first tour of the year for me and my gf

we only did a little over 100 miles for the weekend but we took off saturday evening and came home monday afternoon. we learned a bit about the equipment we are using and about our conditioning. all in all a wonderful memorial day weekend.

Love my three day trips when I take them. They are a nice getaway. We have off Good Friday so I took one. Rode to a campground Friday. Took a day ride to a zoo Saturday. Rode up the NJ coast and took the train home Sunday. Quite relaxing.

Sunrise over Lake Nummy.

Nice! Wish I had done something similar with the fiancee before the first tour, a little shakedown run doesn't hurt anything!

Lol.

Wherever your relationship is headed, it'll get there quicker on a tour.

Looks like fun.

Been there, done that.

I actually got engaged on our first bike tour, so I'd say it all worked out

Depending on how my vacation ends up working out, the honeymoon may be a bike trip too, although she was pretty firm about it not being in a tent!

I would definitely get a 3 person tent for two people bike camping. The limelight 3 is pretty sweet. It weighs in at 6 pounds 11 ounces. I'd check out the REI quarterdome 3 as well which is about 2 pounds lighter.

ya, if you can, 3 person tents are nearly always "real life" 2 people tents, or at least to have more room for panniers and whatnot and not being totally cramped.
as always, gotta balance the costs/weights stuff.

I did a nice 180 supported tour up many hills and mountains over the weekend. It wasn't super easy but had a good time doing it with all the people I did it with and for a good cause. Plus it ended at a friends house (actually multiple friends and also several of the riders) and two people brought pupusas and they were the best pupusas ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+1

I just kicked the buddy that was supposed to be sharing a tent with me on our upcoming tour out on his own, after I actually slept in my new 2 person. Either it isn't that big, or I'ma bit bigger than I was when the two of us were backpacking a lot more in high school
