Tires for the GDMBT?

Hey all,

I toured a lot on road with the usual steel framed 26" setup but recently bought a MTB with 27.5 + tires and all the 'bikepacking' gear etc, etc. My bike (a Genesis Longitude if anyone is interested) came with WTB Trailblazers 2.8". I'm going to make the conversion to tubeless whatever, but I was wondering people think these tires are tough enough for the GDBMT? I think so, probably, but would be interested in hearing any opinions on this, or any other suggestions for the 27.5+ format.

Cheers!

My GDMBR bike, which I recently built, is sporting Bontrager Goatsuckers, er... Bontrager Chupacabras. These are 29x3, and were highly recommended to me by the folks over on Mbtr.com, many of which have done the GDMBR several times. The same tire in 27.5x3 may be just the ticket for you.

I'm really impressed with these tires. They're nice and light, but they look so durable. I love how these tires roll. So fast! I'm running them with tubes right now, but the will be converted to tubeless in a month or so - my immediate goals being to shake down the bike and to make it as utterly bombproof as I can make it.

Here's my build thread if you are interested: https://www.bikeforums.net/touring/11...ide-build.html
