Tires Tires Tires
I am looking for a sweet set of beadless tires (2.1 , 2.2 ) as of late ive been eying out a hand full of Hutchinson tires . But any advice on a set that just plain kicks ass with alot of grip will be thankfull.
100$ is all i want to spend for a set , i will be doing mostly rocky terrain , hard pack , soft dirt riding .. wont be doing any extreme DH or muddy riding .

Yes i do SMP , Also do Kill Creek and Lawrence River Trails .. I havnt done Landau yet .
My current tires are a set of IRC Mythos xc 2.1 on my hardtail , but im building a FSR with Tubeless rims and just wondering what would be better.

Depending on your weight, I think I'd suggest a Kenda Nevegal (non-tubeless) with Stans sealant. Lighter than the tubeless and a little more supple. If you want to go tubeless w/o Stans, then I'd still suggest the Nevegal.
Which do you prefer? SMP or LRT?
You need to come down to Topeka and check out the Gov'na's Mansion. It's like LRT on 'roids. Smooth and fun...but more climby. Lake Perry is pretty koo too...more like SMP with more climbing and mileage. Clinton is a good mix.
I think before the Jeep gets out of school for the summer, we should ck out Landau with TheExtremist.

I just bought a set of Hutchinson Piranhas (tube type) and they work great for hardpack stuff like you describe. Pricepoint has them for $25 each.

I like LRT becaise of the speed , but SMP is only a 10 min drive from Olathe . Cant remember the name of the easy track at Kill Creek ( kinda boring ) but those trails you mentioned sound like fun !!!

I run a bontrager XDX up front and a Kenda Kharma 2.0 in the rear, but i'm a lighter rider than most. And yeah, I ride SMP more than anything else. It depends on a lot of things really; I wouldn't recommend tires that are too lightweight, though I've never so much as flatted even with some super light tires. The Panaracer Fire XC is usually a good choice though.

Ed would know better than I would about riding in Kansas and the Nevegals are pretty hard to beat around hear as well, but I made the switch to the Specialized Purgatory on my 29'r (they make a 26 as well) and they are d**n good tires. They are fairly light, tubeless ready, tons o grip, and burly. They aren't the fastest (especially if you're running 2.4) but I ride on the street when I have to and they're not to bad. You should be able to pick them up for the price you want. You do have to go through a specialized dealer though (no online source).
