Lyme disease & touring

hartlean, you started this thread, and you started it with religious comments. You have refused to publicly explain why you did that despite being asked, and are now attempting to hide behind private messages. You cut and pasted your religious comment in this thread from your religious comment in another thread. You previously posted religious-based comments in other threads. Your religious comments in a bike touring forum are nothing more than proselytization.

You posted essentially the same gripe 3 times, and seem unwilling to accept the OP's offer to discuss it privately.
Like you, I'm not a fan of those who insert their religious messages into unrelated threads, but IMO, they're not much different than those who insert their political digs, or make everything about climate change, or whatever cause they believe in deeply.
Realistically this kind of thing is easy enough to ignore, or you can ignore the person entirely, and as far as proselytizing goes, I suspect that it's more like preaching to the choir than arm twisting of non-believers.
let's get back to the serious issue of dealing with tick (and other insect) borne disease.
-------------------------------------------
Two years ago Deb came down with Chikungunya. (in Cozumel). Early on she thought it might be dengue which had become a problem on the island, but based on the symptoms, I told her it was probably Chikungunya. She was one of the first cases, and they were slow to call it, until the head of medicine walked past her, looked at her, and said "You have chikungunya!".
Anyway, it was early, and treatment protocols were still tentative. The docs tried to manage it with minimal drugs, until after a few days I insisted they go at it hard and fast. Upshot, she ended up with badly swollen, stiff and painful wrists and ankles, which were slow to respond to steroids, and was basically OK in 60 days, and it took over a year for all traces of stiffness to clear.
If Lyme, and other diseases are in any way similar, the message is to treat early and aggressively, to minimize the damage, and shorten recovery time.

Remember that someone earlier in this thread said they are not interested in aspects of this conversation.
Plus, if saddlesores wants to go into some depth about his Qn, s/he might be more comfortable doing that off-line.
If you want to participate in that discussion, I’m fine with that, but I’d want to contact saddlesores to get his/her buy-in.
Proselytization? That comment, too, makes me wonder if you’re afraid of something. For now, I’ll just ask you that, if you have any solutions to the climate change that is making this planet less & less habitable for humans (including worsening lyme), besides the actions I’ve mentioned, I’m certainly eager to hear from you about those.
In any case, I’m convinced that a necessary part of avoiding the worst of that environmental degradation is re-defining prosperity, happiness, fulfillment, etc. If you check out Chapter 3 of this

some connections between saddlesores' Qn, & how I opened this thread, will probably become clear.

You seem pretty excited about something. Is someone chasing you?

Pathetic, hartlean. Absolutely pathetic.

Fortunately it took a while, so there was time to get the serious info out beforehand. With any luck a mod with time on his hands will log on and clean up the non-tick parts.
