Now that my Brooks saddle has arrived...

One interesting aspect of them Zac is that while they feel like wood brand new, the leather does end up having a distinct "suspension" effect of give, when you go over bumps. I really noticed this compared to other seats I've had, and then of course how it gradually takes the specific shape of your sitbones.
All part of them being more comfortable than other seats for me, including the non leather C17 that I've ridden on a lot too.
But yup, more important riding than typing!
I ride all winter, but on regular simple seats, and they work fine enough too.

As it turns out I never needed another saddle or any other bike related product this summer. Not long after this thread something popped in my knee. It was a torn meniscus, and a big tear at that, and I had surgery on it last week. It'll be a few more weeks before I can get on the bike and do some light trainer pedaling. The Empire State trail ride I was planning to do has been put off, but maybe I'll aim for the spring instead of the summer, depends on the knee.

My 2nd B17 was a tad tough to break in. I finally decided to treat my rear end to a nice Brooks B68. Most comfortable saddle I've ever had the pleasure of using.
