Here are two I snapped a few weeks back in Glacier, of a mama and baby mountain goat. Traffic was pulled over just as we reached the final half mile climbing Logan Pass. I was a bit upset until I saw why. Shot with a very wide angle lens- they literally walked right up to me as I shot:

Every day a winding road
Cute pic of the "Uninvited" guest. When I was in Antigua, there would be a small bird that would come and steal orange juice out of peoples cups, I tried so hard getting a picture but I could never catch him.
Not wildlife but I like the story this tells.
What's that I smell?
Smells like it is coming from up here.

The Rock Cycle
Some pics from a 12 day tour around southwest Colorado that we just got back from:
It's hard to see, but in the middle of this shot is a big brown colored black bear. He was checking out our camp spot just outside of Silverton, CO. This incident sent us back into town to try to find another campspot. We ended up camping in someone's backyard and we met some great people because of it!
This rattler was the only resident we could find in Slick Rock, CO. It was right on the road.

So, a few days ago on the cabot trail:
Notice the Moose were photographed with an ultra-wide angle! I saw 7 in total, 6 in one day. Many bald egles, red-tailed hawks, whales. Also a fox on PEI that posed perfectly until I brought the camera to my eye. Lots of birds on PEI too.

More atlantic Canada wildlife:
The sheeps are free to graze for the summer in Gros Morne's Green Gardens. They have to catch them in the fall. A little tricky sometimes because they aren't affraid of steep slopes.
The blurred pic is a moose cow. I was running down Gros Morne trail just after sunset when I saw the big nose around the corner on very narrow trail. I put the camera bag down to get a pic but she took a few steps forward. I backed up until I could find an opening in the tight forest. She walked down the stairs like it was nothing. Her calf stopped, stared at me a little and ran down those stairs. You can see my camera bag on the ground. The night before i was awaken by two moose eating a few feet from my tent.
The salmons are in the final step of a salmon ladder on torrent river in Newfoundland. It was put in place to restore (succesfully) the salmon population after too much exploitation and destruction of habitat.
The dolphins... that was this afternoon on the ferry to Labrador. They were just swimming until they hit the waves made by the ferry. Then they started to jump.
This is the most amazing trip I've ever done. Everyday has a little magic. Next week, I'll be on Anticosti island where there's a population of about 120 000 deer so I should I should get a picture or two hundred.
I should see some whales on the week long boat trip as well.

More! And problably the last. I don't know the shorebirds' names though. Very difficult to figure out especially in fall plumage.
Well, it's been an amazing trip. The wildlife was way above expectation. I'm glad I could get close enough with a 70-300 lens. It ends this monday on a long boat and train trip back home. I'lll post the link to the entire gallery when all is edited, cropped, dusted, etc.

wildlife and ecology and nature are the driving forces behindd my cycle touring adventures,
to see it all in a more spacious way and to respect it by travelling light footprint
my blog basically focuses on raisinig awareness of Australias unique wildlife, with a focus on Rainforests.
as my route took me through central qld, I also saw some the more arid adapted species, but mostly endemic species from north qld (especially birds)
this was the pinaccle of it all, after riding more then 2000km from my home town up into North qld, Australia ... I spent a week volunteering on a rainforest wildlife sanctuary
this is a female Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo - Dendrolagus lumholtzi - who is being reintegrated back into the surrounding complex notophyll rainforest
the whole purpose of this trip, was to learn more about nature and experience first-hand some of Australias wildlife and the eco-systems that they rely upon..
and north qld is absolutely oozing with biological diversity
here we go ...

Every lane is a bike lane
I'm usually too slow with the camera to capture any wildlife shots -- maybe the sight of a 400lb gorilla riding a bike scares other creatures off. There are a couple that come to mind.
This was a possum that got into my tent at Cradle Mountain in Tasmania:
