I regret making a joke about a silly conspiracy theory around so many Ryanistas.
Actually Mythbusters pretty much proved that the moon landing video could not have been faked so we can cross that one of the list. :) So conspiracy theories yet to prove:

I am also getting curious about another point. I'm guessing he has to have lost 20 pounds or more... or managed to consume a very high calorie diet.

Ryan Bowen has asked me to get The Word Out. He would like to have more riders join him on his ride to DC. He is very tired. 5 hours sleep last night Rode 92 miles today. Spending the night near Savanna Georgia. He like phone calls. He has an ear piece, He can talk while riding. Beginning Friday he believes a Crew from ABC TV will follow him to DC. He is asking for those interested, that have computers, to contact area bike clubs and alert them of his ride. He has been contacted by Oprah for an interview. Call Him at: 323-770-8170 His Plan : http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...stCoastMap.jpg Charleston Jan 9TH Myrtle Beach Jan 10TH Wilmiington Jan 11TH http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...eenShot001.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...ceofaRider.jpg |

Well, he was riding in the South. There's a reason so many Clydesdales live south of the Mason-Dixon line. :)

Note to Ryan ; On the Wilmington NC leg, the usual bicycle route northbound into Wilmington is via the South Port/ Fort Fisher Ferry. However the Ferry is currently out of service. You need to follow US 17 instead.

Hair splitting....
On a coast to coast trip I got a 50 mile ride through the desert somewhere around Sanderson to Langtry, TX. It was 108 degrees in the shade. No water facilities. A local took a look at my 4 gallons of water jugs tied on and said I'd never make it. Would not take no for an answer. Good thing I disclosed. I'd hate for my trip to be dismissed as fraudulent. Unless you begged for donations and put up a web site claiming you were riding a bike coast to coast then whatever you did during your tour was just part of your tour. I don't think it's hair splitting, it's apples and oranges. "Sponsors" were led to believe something, donations were asked for based on that premise, and it didn't occur as advertised. Some will have issue with that. Me? I'm just watching the train...... |

You need to eat a lot of grits, beans and greens to keep your weight up while riding 90-100 miles every day. I don't know what "flavor" of vegetarian he is, but if he is open to butter etc, I guess he could still be doing well on the weight. |
10 Wheels, I'm glad Ryan found someone to 'organize' for him. I told him I didn't feel comfortable registering at bike discussion groups up and down the East Coast just to promote his ride. That's the last I heard from him.

These could keep Ryan's weight up... as would biscuits and gravy, except for I seem to recall reading earlier that he is a vegetarian. ;)

What's wrong with that guy on the far left? Is it a mental problem or is he defecating into his own hand?

He's also the only rider in street clothes.
My detective skills say the young man straddling the bike is not the rider of said bike. Note the hand placement of the taller gentlemen beside him. He has a hold of the brake hood, which would lead me to believe he is concerned about the bike staying upright. That is a possessive trait, and most would do the same. I'm going to guess the younger man is driving sag for the man holding on to the bike, and just wanted to be in the picture also. Also 3 bikes / 3 helmets / 3 in bike clothes / 2 loaded touring bikes / 1 bike unloaded / toe straps on bike & tennis shoes on taller gentlemen. Of course this is just a guess on my part. :) Denny |
