Ooh, I just noticed these: Vittoria Randonneur Hyper. 350g at 32mm, yet very puncture proof? Trying to find more reviews.

get the supremes from SJS cycles and they are about 45 each.
antokelly- mine are 40mm wide (1.6) and they are wonderful. I ride on road,
off road and everything in between.

Ok, just looked up the Marathon Supremes, and they're $100-120 AUD in local shops. Compared to $50 for the Vittoria Hyper from Wiggle, for what look like pretty similar tyres. And then the reviews for the Spec. Armadillo Elite look good too...also in the same category.

Marathon Supremes. I had to swallow pretty hard to lay out the cash for these. I have pluses on another bike. The pluses are as advertised -- durable, very puncture resistant and heavy. They feel leaden and the weight is noticed. They're on a fixie that gets lots of city miles. The supremes are on a tourer. The profile is quite round, making them predictable in sharp cornering. Tread is great. They're lively feeling, spin up fast and remarkably tough and puncture resistant. In short, when/if I can wear these out, I'll gladly spring for a new set. But I'll still wonder why I spend more for bike tires than for the booties on the automobile.
