Well, we got the bike. I'm sure DH will share his input after he's had a few rides so if anyone else was curious, he may be able to answer some questions about the quality of the bike in the coming days/weeks.

Bikes: Specialized Tarmac Expert, Giant Iguana,Schwinn Mesa, Huffy Rock Creek 29er, Fuji Cambridge, 1970s-era Ross ten speed. Various parts bikes in various stages of disassembly.
Pretty cool bike! If not quite as well known as some others, hence the lack of replies to your thread. Pretty solid component group, and I like the black paint job. Plus it comes with fenders...somebody is thinking. I'd consider dropping your granny ring down to a 26 or so. Nice bike. Let us know how it works out.

Nice bike, give us a hint on how it feels. With rack, fenders and bar-ends shifters this one is ready to tour.
