Etsch Bicycle Path in Austria

Has anyone toured the Etsch Bicycle Path in Austria? It looks beautiful!!

I plan on riding it doing maybe 60 miles / 100 km per day. What are some good towns to stay? Will I find plenty of water along the way?

And that is only the second part of the trip. It is from Nauders to Merano. There is a whole other section from Innsbruck to Landeck.

Looks like Landeck is a good place to spend a night. In Landeck, there is a shuttle bus to Nauders to take you over the Resia Pass. Or I suppose you could ride it. But it looks like a very narrow road with little to no shoulder and lots of fast traffic.

I am going to take the easy way and take the bus.

When are you going? August will be very crowded. Sept/Oct is perfect. I just spent 2 weeks touring the Alps of Austria, Slovenia, Italy, and Switzerland. You shouldn't have any problems with water. Potable water in Europe is very good out of the taps. Distances aren't ultra long and if you carry a couple of bottles you shouldn't have any problems. We were in the Sella Group and climbed the Stelvio and Bernina Passes so we went along some of the parallel roads. If you are going to stay in campgrounds they are clean with hot water for showers, usually a Restaurant and a store are part of the package. In addition most campgrounds have WiFi for internet connectivity. Local trains are a pretty good way to get from one location to another with a bike. Most have a car designated for bikes. Europe is a bike friendly place. Good luck and have a wonderful time...I am going to take a month the next time I go.

BTW: Thanks for the heads up on this ride.

I agree that it looks beautiful, but perhaps you could retitle the thread. The route that is described on the link is in Italy, in the Suedtirol/Alto Adige region of the Alps.

Yes after I investigated that website I learned the same. This is only the website shows only the second park of the ride.
