Yes. 60 per day sounds fine. Oatmeal and peanut butter is fine as well, throw in a banana or two. Kick a few of those KY dogs for us!

Thanks for keeping us posted on your trip.

Many have indicated that they are planning cross US trips and other ... but few ever report back here about their trips.

Hedge clippers, they sometimes come in handy, but the electric ones are a smidge too heavy.

Ever see the photo in ACA's mag of the guy crossing the country with an old push mower strapped to the top of his B.O.B.? He earned a few bucks here and there cutting lawns.

Oh yeah just thought I'd say that I kicked the Appalachians ass! When I started riding with the group of people I finally saw how all my training has helped. I was always the first to the top, and the only one who hasn't walked my bike up any hill. Can ride the mountains at 6 7 mph. My cadence wins out! I lose site of the other riders on every hill and the last 3 days in the mountains I only rested twice! In gonna chew up the Rockies!

I like you attitude toward your physical gains and improvements. It is a real rush to be able to just power your way up an extra long grade without petering out while leaving the others way back along the way.

yeah they always say im trying to race them, but when it comes to climbing I ride my own ride. I don't hardly even look at the rearview, its just me against the mountains!

Joe,

Good to hear things are proceeding well! Hope your fun continues, and ditto on the photos, if you're able!

Other people to ride with is always a motivational plus, if nothing more than to have some company during
the day's ride! Good to hear the food is working out, and hopefully you're hitting the roadside produce stands
if there are any along your route!

Nope...I know what it takes to post pics on the road.

Rode NY to LA in 2009.

Yeah I swear its more exhausting posting these pics then it is doing the ride! Did you guys drop under the Appalachians? Your route kinda looks like it.

The pics are posted!
