California, here I come.

I'm leaving in 7 hours or so from Miami to somewhere in California. I hope it doesn't take longer than 2 months, cause I don't have much money. This will probably be my last post for a while, unless I find a public library along the way. Peace! Here is a picture of me and my bike below.

Sokool. Your bike looks like a blend of mtn. bike and hybrid, maybe.. Like to describe your bike. I see it has suspension.. Good ride for the road.. Good luck.. Where in California are you heading..?

Bikes: A lot: Raliegh road bike, 3 fixed gears, 2 single speeds, 3 Cannondales, a couple of Schwinns

If you aren't opposed to working along the way, you'll do okay, and it might even be longer, and you'll get a book deal out of it like Least Heat Moon's Blue Highways.
Luck

Naisme! Someone else has read Blue Highways? I loved that book. Didn't hurt that I had a short wheelbase cargo van, and a wanderlust. Never drove the blue lines in the van, now I hope to do it on a bike.

Sokool, post as often as you can, there are people from all across this country on this board. Can't hurt to try to connect with some for a place to stay or some maintenance. Just post so people know what you are asking. Good luck.

I plan on first going around the Sacramento and San Francisco area to visit my sister and then maybe gong down the coast to Santa Monica to visit my friends. San Francisco is such an awesome city! I've been there twice before.

SoKool, I'm in Fairfield, about halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento. Let me know if you need any support services that your sister can't provide.

Thanks for the offer. I might just take you up on that offer. We'll see.

Shawn, I hope the weather is good wherever you are. Did you end up taking a hotel? The bugs in that RV park were insane!
Where are you now? Keep us updated.
