Need some mirror help, I have a Mirrorcycle mirror shown in the photo but it broke where I bent it, also being on the bar ends got in the way too often. So.. I am looking for a mirror that attaches above the grip and out to the side. (sketched in red) Anybody have one that has a big mirror and is stable? Needs to have a very good solid mounting system. Thanks for your help.

You might look at motorcycle parts. There are clamp-on adapters that take different mirrors. Heavy, though.

Have you tried one that attaches to your helmet instead of handlebar?

I use these mirrors that are very unobtrusive. I tighten the mirror so it stays in place but fold if it hits anything or a car touches it, so it doesn't make me crash. I bent the MTB mirrors stalk, so it doesn't interfere with using the horn.

No one around here, are using mirrors, so i don't want big mirrors on big stalks; people might think I'm the village idiot ;-)

I installed my first mirror before riding through Morocco and later Vietnam but got so used to it, that I kept it on after I returned home.

I have a mirror that installs on your glasses, but I don't like it, as the field of vision is to small and its cramping and takes to much time to align your head, every time you want to look behind you. I also feel that helmet and glasses mirrors are too close to your eye, so it can hide a pedestrian or another bike.

I got this ine at Canadian Tire. Dont know where you are. Works great and very solid. Mirror is about 4 x 3 inches. I've had this one about a year now.

I have the Mirrorcycle. I have dropped bars, and bar end shifters. I used one of those clamps for reflectors that you usually throw away when getting a new bike. I mounted the mirror to that. Let me know if you want a photo.

Rhode Gear and Topeak, I think, make a variation of their bar-end mirrors that Velcro on to the handlebars. I had the Rhode Gear one ages ago.



IIRC, you can swivel the mount of the mirror to suit what you want.

I've tried several versions of bicycle mirrors and most are garbage; either wiggle too much, or can't see anything. This german built 'ultralight' is very stable, and can be attached most anywhere on a handlebar; plus it is a large mirror where I can actually see something behind me, LOL. Anyway, might be something you'd consider. But I have no idea for motorcycle; may be too flimsy against large wind pressures.

Bicycle Mirror

I have not purchased from them but I have done a couple of hacks using the Mirrycle mirror head and find it the best. I thoroughly disliked the German mirror as it is too convex and cars need to be very close before you can clearly make out what is going on behind you.
