Tubus titanium: Logo or Carry?
One of the problems of having a titanium bike is that once you have one, you can't bring yourself to put steel or aluminum accessories on it.
I'm looking for a sturdy, lightweight , high-capacity rear rack. At this point, I'm looking at Tubus products. The "Carry" seems to be getting phased out -- it's hard to find, but when you can find it it costs less than than "Logo". As near as I can tell, the difference between the two is that the Logo has a flat upper surface and the Carry has an upgoing rail (which might keep things placed on top from sliding towards the saddle?)
Any strong opinions, one way or the other?
And an idea for Americans in the market for products made in Europe -- with the current exchange rate between the dollar and the euro, it may be worthwhile to buy from European sellers. You'll pay extra shipping, and it will take longer to get to you, but you may come out ahead. Using European Google sites (google.de for Germany, for example) can help you find European vendors.

A couple years ago Tubus added some little bumps on Logo on the lower part where you hang your panniers so that the pannier hooks can't slide back. At that time they added EVO to the model name. Those bumps are not on the picture you posted. Look at some newer photos and you will see them. Then ask yourself if those little bumps are worth having. On some panniers, they are not needed, others they might be. Those bumps are shown here.

Good call on shopping in Europe. Several years ago the dollar was quite strong, I took advantage of that to buy my Ortliebs, shipped from Europe. One of my Tubus racks also from Europe. Some shops in Europe do not refund VAT until you ask about that, make sure you ask.

Wiggle has the Tubus Tara now for <$59. Buy two and shipping is free - VAT free too.
I don't think I'd get a Tubus Ti rack even for a Ti frame. You pay twice as much for a 25% reduced load capacity. And while Tubus has an outstanding reputation with steel racks, who knows how well they do welding Ti, which is harder to cut and weld than steel. They've probably only made 1 Ti rack for every 1000 steel racks they've made/sold. And the steel rack already has an incredible 30 year warranty. I've read more than one report of Tubus rush shipping a free (warranty) rack off to a tourist in Brazil/back of beyond/etc. Plus black racks make your Ti frame look even shinier. I built both my Ti frames with black componentry (except for a silver Thomson stem). I think silver/SS/Ti racks would be too much shiny stuff on a Ti frame - and you can't see them anyway since the bags cover them.

No Ti Bike I have Tubus 'classic', Chromo Logo and use Ortlieb* bags . Logo top surface is Narrower than The Cargo/carry type
so bag's support struts are triangulated inward a Bit for a solid sway less mount
(Ti as a material is not as stiff as steel, thats what you desired in the frame , racks, Is that desirable too?
You Decide..
*the bottom hook keeps the bag from moving back , the top rear hook on that rear lower rail keeps it from shifting forward ..
Reinforcing tape where the hooks rub is probably a good thing , since Ti is softer than steel
& no powdercoat to wear and re place ..

I bought a Tubus Logo last year. I generally like the rack, especially the lower mounting position, but don't like the small top platform on the rack. I like the wider platform with the bent-up ends that the classic Tubus rear rack has (and I guess the Carry shown above...).
Bought my first set of f/r Ortlieb bags in Germany at the tail end of them using the Mark as currency. The exchange rate was VERY favorable to the USD and I got a great deal. Who knows, maybe those days will come again? The euro was at around $1.13 yesterday, compared with $1.65 a year or two ago.

the Carry is 6.6cm (ie, narrower) https://www.tubus.com/documents/1323681277_Carry_BM.pdf
I suppose that the "classic Tubus rear rack" you're thinking of is the Cargo, at 11.4 cm width to the platform https://www.tubus.com/documents/14049...szeichnung.pdf
Thanks for getting me to notice the width of that platform. I just ordered the titanium Logo; I'll update the thread when it arrives.

On the Tubus website, they show the Logo top platform as tapering from 10cm to 8.6 cm https://www.tubus.com/documents/13236...c_Titan_BM.pdf;

The 31 liter Ortlieb duffel sitting on the panniers in photo.
I actually prefer the narrow platform, I think it makes the rack stiffer.

I've got the Logo titan. After approx 1,000 touring miles, I'm happy. I also took the drill to the rack and did a custom Supernova dynamo tail-light installation.

I decided against the Logo because the top rack is 1 inch narrower than other Tubus racks. I prefer stability of my items on the top. The Logo does not have bent forward ends to prevent items hitting my thighs while I pedal.
The best feature of both Logo and Carry is the aft pannier position. Fortunately, I have a forward seat and pedal position with a long length touring frame to avoid heel strike on the panniers.

Another three year old thread resurrected.
