Polar HRM software - Total Exertion and Pace report

A recent post about TRIMP - the training impulse method of gauging training stress, here:
https://www.bikeforums.net/training-nutrition/489272-help-finding-trimp-information.html
got my attention.

This thread contained a reference by Enthalpic to previous thread of his here:

discussing the basis for this concept.

I've long noticed that the Polar Precision Performance Software that came with my 720i has a report titled "Total Exertion and Pace." There is a discussion of the methodology of this report in the Help files. It seems to me that this report shows the TRIMP for each exercise, if I understand correctly. And BTW, I don't train with power. No need to spend the money at my level.

I've been using this Polar software for years. Going back through my workouts in this report, it looks to me like my most successful spring training builds were at a total exertion/week of about 500. My max for a single ride was about 600. That's probably not much compared to the Real Athletes that hang out here, but I'm just an average old man who likes to ride his bike. I think I understand that the numbers which one gets in this report are derived from HR zones either that the user sets up or that are the default. I've tried to set up personal HR zones off my LTHR and MHR that bear some resemblance to those described in the literature.

I'm thinking that trying to hold 500/week for a while, while measuring my MRHR every morning, might be interesting.

I'd like to know more about this. Are my assumptions above correct? Does this seem reasonable? What kind of numbers do other folks see?
