Uncomfortable thigh pump before bed
I have noticed that I ride a lot better in the evening, even after a days work, than in the morning. Last night I rode 17 miles in one hour 6 mins on a fairly hilly route.
I am 58, fairly fit from mountain biking and have been riding my road bike since Feb,when weather allowed. I was quite pleased with how last nights ride went, I was in higher gears and felt like I was keeping a good pace up ,even up the hills that were killing me a month ago.
Trouble was trying to sleep an hour later, I was tired, and I though, relaxed after a long hot shower, but my thighs were so pumped that they felt "on edge " just took ages to get to sleep.
Is there a minimum time I should leave after riding before sleep, or is there maybe stretching I could do to get the pump down ?
I have to mention that I get no soreness the day after, just don't want to wake up ( thats not that unusuall I suppose. )

My legs feel better when I do my grocery shopping on my way home after my midweek hard evening ride.
There is something about easy walking pushing the shopping cart that helps.
Finish off your water bottle too.
Does it "look funny" to the other customers in my bike shorts & HiVis jersey? Probably. Do I care? Not really.
