Swapping to a flat bar? Help please.
Hello all. Weird question I know. Recently my father has been contemplating about converting his motobecane nemesis to a flat bar due to now having back problems. Can and will that even work? Is it better to sell than do the work? I know he said he probably won't get much out of it being pretty old.

The best bet would be to get a bike fit and see what the issues are
IF you dad does not want to invest in that, then replacing the stem for one that lifts the bars up will help
but as the nemisis is a try bike it might be that the whole geometry is off and a more road bike geometry is needed.
full disclosure, I am not a flat bar fan as they force an unnatural wrist position and personally cause me a lot of wrist pain
