Clipping in the second foot
At the start of a time trial race, I start with my left foot (my stronger leg) clipped in at the 10:00 - 11:00 position. Once underway, what position should the empty pedal be in when I clip into my right pedal? I don't want to waste time trying to find the pedal to get my second foot clipped in.

I usually clip the left foot at the 6 position (bottom)
Then when safe to do so, clip in right as I would coming off any stop, at the 12 and pressing down as the pedal rotates forward to get the cleat to engage. I'm using Shimano SPD-L pedals
