Competed First Tri
Sat morning, sprint class. Time of 59:13 Placed 50th overall out of 182 and 4th in my age brackett! My goal for my first one was under an hour so I met that, but I was astonished at my slow transition times. Ha after the bike I was so tired It took three tries to tie my right shoe!
Was looking forward to the run so I could finally get a rythem and get my lungs under control and as soon as I started striding I got a stitch in my side and ran the first mile clutching my side! (haven't done that since high school many years ago) After two miles I finally got over the hump and got to relax and enjoy the last mile to the finish

Nice job. I remember my first triathlon. *scene blurs back in time... way back... to the 90's* The Macarena had yet to be invented, the Yankees had yet to become the dominate powerhouse team and hula hoops had been out of style for decades. I remember getting the race a bit late, stretching on the beach right before the start. The water was cold! Cape Cod in June YIPES! I had a less than stellar swim and I wasn't even racing on a bike that I owned (I borrowed a friends bike). Then I did the run. Finished and was a bit happy. Despite the setbacks, it was fun. So I made a habit out of racing in them.
You'll get better at transition. This past Sunday, I had the 4th fastest bike to run transition. If it weren't for an extremely painful gludious maximus (I'm confused as to why that happened), I would have had the fastest bike to run transition. Of course, I don't use clips, so it's easier for me.
Enjoy triathlon and avoid the jellyfish!
