Running shoes ????
I've been biking, now started running & getting ready to enter some sprint Tri's.
question: been running in Zoot OVWA & they are comfortable because I don't like socks, they're light & seem to feel good. I'm up to 5 miles at a 10+ pace (9+ race pace). Been reading where these are race shoes & may not have enough support for training. I have some hip discomfort after running, getting better tho. Should I look at a training shoe? Should I visit a running store to seek advice?
Thanks for any advice.

Unless you're putting a lot of mileage on them, they shouldn't be affecting your hips. Running stores can be helpful but their advice all depends on the expertise of the sales people which is sometimes minimal. Look for a pair of shoes that have decent support. Put them on and run around the store or outside the store if they'll let you. Buy the ones that feels the best.

Seeking advice from experienced running store employees can be very helpful. Was your choice of shoes made using a video of gate analysis or just a "feels good" decision?

If your hips hurt you need to do some isolated stretching and get yourself a foam roller.
Shoes can contribute to any number of pains/imbalances but if your feet and legs feel OK you may be fine with the shoes you have. You could always go to a doctor/coach/running store and have your form analyzed. This would give your recommendations on shoe type and also changes to make to running form to be more injury-resistant.
