trailer and pannier rack?

i checked out the Topeak Journey Trailer and DryBag at a local shop, and it seems pretty impressive for urban use.

problem is, it seems like the trailer won't fit on my frame (2009? giant transend-1) with my pannier rack (topeak super-tourist DX, disc).

for grocery shopping, a trailer would be sweet, but for just about everything else, panniers are all i need.

any suggestions for having an easy-on/easy-off trailer, AND keeping my pannier rack?

i've already thought about getting another bike for a trailer, but that would consume my trailer budget before even getting into tires, pedals, saddle...

thanks...
