Moral of the story. Lyme sucks and is hard to pin down. At this point, it seems like they should run all the tests each time. Negative does not always mean negative.

Bleh, sucks. Between my wife and me we've had 5 separate cases of Lyme. Luckily all were caught early. I wish you and your daughter all the best!

+1. Best of wishes, homebrew

btw, it seems that Chris Horner knows about exploits of Racer Ex

That’s another thing to consider. As I said at the beginning, not all riders have the same capabilities and strengths. If an attack goes off the front, the riders nearest to it may not be willing or physically able to respond. If Rider X attacks and the first five riders on the front of the field (let’s call them Rider 1, Rider 2, Rider 3, Rider 4, and Bachelor 5) are cooked from a previous effort, then Rider 6 is already five bike lengths behind before he begins to respond. That’s a gap. If Rider X’s intention is a solo breakaway, he’s away, and the chase is on.Rider 6 will likely hesitate because he’s expecting R1, R2, R3, R4, and B5 to react. If they don’t, Rider X has a bigger lead.
That’s a smart attack. Rider X assessed the strength of the riders around him, and he attacked when those riders had been weakened in battle.
I hate Rider X. Unless he’s on my team.

You guys are just not cutting it today. I need more to keep me busy today. I've still got two hours until I can leave and go for a ride.

Another case of head lice at my kids' school. I am so over lice. Actually, I'm so over the huge overreaction to lice that some parents have. They're creepy and gross but they are relatively innocuous. Unlike ticks and fleas, headlice don't transmit disease. Just calm the hell down, comb them out, and get on with life.

You still have two hands right?

And you don't have to sit in an office all day?

I'm pretty sure there is something you could do - and you probably only need one of your hands for it.

Did you move to Portland recently? That sounds like quite the meal plan...

If so, I will be there over memorial day weekend. The A-crop is awaiting

I just read that the other day (the book and the line) and I was wondering if the reference to "Rider X" was intentional.

I noticed the other day that anytime I see a flag (just walking around or driving, etc) I take mental note of which it pointing and how straight it standing in relation to what ever direction I'm going. I realized this the other day when I was driving home from work. There was a flag standing in the direction I was going with a R turn at the stop light. in my head....'strong head wind, then L to R cross wind...ride in the gutter', then i thought....things are getting out of hand with this bike racing thing. And i've been doing this for awhile I just never really realized it. I think this only something i bike racer would understand

I said Portland as it sounded like a hipster vegan type diet.

The A-crop, or Acropolis is a fine Kwaki type establishment in Portland serving only the finest steak bites and emotionally damaged dancers

The greater challenge I have is transitioning back into "car driver" mode from "bike rider" mode after a race or longer group ride. I have to remind myself to adhere to acceptable following distances, not pass with minimal spacing, and not corner outside inside outside. It's even worse when I get tired and my wife has to remind me I'm not in a race.

Yeah, it's a gear change for sure. Especially after a really fast crit on a short course.

Well Saris is starting to piss me off...

I recently had a G3 hub built up into some Hed Belgiums. First, the hub and Joule unit wouldn't pair, so they sent a new hub cap with new electronics. Now, after pairing, it gives wild power readings that fluctuate wildly, even when the bike is sitting still without a rider on it. My lunch ride turned into a 3-block ride straight to the bike shop, where I left it so a Saris rep can check it out tmrrw.

Gah.
