...bar stylings and preferences have changed over the years. I'm 6' 2" and reasonably broad shouldered from swimming, but I can still get by on Cinelli 40's and 42's. The important thing is to not go so narrow you compress your chest and impede your breathing. People are actually a lot more adaptable than you might think from all the bike fit stuff in print. We used to race on some much narrower stuff than what's currently in vogue.

The clamp inner diameter on your stem is measurable, and likely 26.2 (but could be smaller, depending on what was put on there originally.) Use a vernier caliper to measure, or get someone to do it at the center of your old bar.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

How can you tell what will only fit my current stem?
The stock center diameter size for Cinelli stems was 26.4 when your stem was new.
Many handlebars now are either over or under that size. Your choices are somewhat limited if you want to keep the stem, but options are still available.
If you feel that you need a higher riding position and you never use the drops, try a bullhorn style - many wider-width ones are available.
