84/85 Super Sport
Does this price seem to be acceptable for this bike? The seller has it listed as a '68 which I think was a typo for "'86" but I think it's actually an '84 or '85. He's asking $175

Still learning
Nice shape but for scrape on left side seat stay and resin pedals. As a rider, priced about right, maybe try for $150.

It does appear to be an '84 or '85 when you match it up to the catalogs. IMO, the Super Sport is an oft-overlooked model that was one step up in the Schwinn lineup from the more popular Tempo.
I think anytime you can get one of these in good shape <$200, you're doing alright. Not to mention, the pearl white makes for a very classy looking bike. I picked up my 1986 Super Sport for $165 so you're in the ballpark.
Further comparing catalog specs, I would put my money on this one being a 1984. I base this on the '84 being equipped with Cyclone components and the '85 having Shimano 600 dark grey anodized components.
The real tell for which year it is will be the tubing. Schwinn switched from Champion tubing to Columbus Tenax tubing in 1985. As a result the Super Sport shed 2 llbs in published weight in 1985. This makes the '85 more desirable in my book but I doubt it affects value in the marketplace.
