This CL listing made me smile this AM...The Mercier in the ad is the exact same model of the first "10-speed" bike I ever owned, when I lived in Fresno, no less. The bike is over priced IMO (even if it is "RARE!!!" and "Made in France!!!"), but the memories its brings back...

Good shape? Take a closer look at the front fork. What happened to the fork rake? CL pics are crappy but down tube at head tube looks damaged.

Am I more tired than I realize? What is up with these two pictures?
Edit: Neverind. I see the Lion emblem on the downtube is backwards.

62 cm 1970s lugged Claud Butler frame made of Reynolds 531 with a Kinesis Carbon fork. Frame & fork were powder coated a beautiful dark blue gray by Lizart. The rear spacing is 130, the bike was previously built up with modern Campy 9 speed parts. This is a very nice frame, only selling it because it's too big for me. included is a Campy seatpost binder bolt & a super smooth Campy Chorus bottom bracket installed. I'm asking-$250.00 I also have a 140mm Cinelli 1a stem and an alloy seatpost for 20.00 bucks each. Email me any questions or to take a look at the frame.

That is an Iowa phone number... are you in Iowa?
I have a good friend that is over 20 feet tall who I have been searching for a bike for... that might fit him if he bends his legs outward. Do you ever go to Chicago?
Heck, you would need an oversized box to ship that in as well.
I just noticed that the photo is dated 2007. Might be nothing, but should keep that in mind.

If your friend wants it, I will be in Palatine on Jan 16th for the bike swap meet and could bring the bike with me. I can inspect it and pick it up, but your friend will have to make payment.

Killer Deal
1986 Schwinn Prelude (25" frame) - $100 (Asheboro)
Date: 2010-01-02, 11:07AM EST
1986 lugged steel frame Schwinn Prelude for $100. The frame size is 25" or 63-64cm(center to top). Columbus Tenax steel tubing. Nice bike for restoration or singlespeed/fixie conversion. It does have horizontal dropouts. As far as I'm aware it has most of the original components.Dia-Comp Brakes, Suntour Cyclone derailleurs, Suntour friction only downtube shifters, 6 speed freewheel. Cockpit components are mostly original but I'm not sure what kind of saddle a previous owner has put on it. It's very comfortable but definitely not original. The handlebars are probably original and are wrapped with velcro. It has less than 10 miles on a rebuilt headset, bottom bracket, and hubs.
It looks to have seen plenty of use but overall the bike is in good mostly original condition. I'm located south of Asheboro if you'd like to see it. The only reason I'm selling is because the frame size is just way too big for me. It has a 34 and 1/2" standover height.
