Nice full-Campy Woodrup in Brooklyn, if somewhat pricey. I suspect that Omega rims are later than the 70s, but the bike appears to be in great condition. I could facilitate, but out of town from next Wed through Labor Day.

Seems very over priced for a rough condition Frankenstein, but maybe he'll negotiate...

This also seems high given the parts, but it would still be cheaper than building it yourself:

[h=2]Raleigh Grand Prix 650b conversion - $1 (cc)[/h]

Date: 2012-08-20, 2:29PM EDT
Reply to this post

So I rarely ride this beauty and badly need to thin the herd.... Not too desperate to sell, so skip the lowball offers. Frame is a 56cm 1986 Raleigh Grand Prix in fantastic condition. I am only the second owner - original owner took amazing care of it and didn't ride it very often. Since I purchased / reconfigured the bike it has only been ridden ~300 miles. Standover is roughly 32". Asking for $600, but I would also sell just the wheels, tires, brake calipers and fenders as a package for $300.

Crankset (Raleigh-branded Suntour) and Deraileurs (Shimano Golden Arrow) are original and in super great condition. The original downtube shifters (Golden Arrow) have been swapped out for Ultegra bar-end shifters. Both shifter sets come with the bike. The original Suntour brake calipers and the long-reach Tektro R556 calipers shown are both included. Bars are Nitto Randonneur. The wheels I bought from Rivendell - they are Velocity Twin Hollow 650b rims laced to Shimano Tiagra hubs. Everything shown comes on the bike, This means the beautiful Honjo fenders, Brooks saddle, bell, bottle cages and MKS platform pedals. The tires are Panaracer Nifty Swifty. I will also include some larger tires if desired - the Panaracer Col De La Vie's. They are larger, cushier tires and will not fit while the fenders are on the bike. Keywords: touring commuter 650b conversion surly lht vaya salsa

[h=2]Trek 520 24" Touring Bike-Bench Built-Reynolds Tubing - $350 (Newton)[/h]

Date: 2012-08-25, 11:03AM EDT

Trek 520 touring bike considered one of the best touring bikes made. The frame is butted Reynolds 501 with extremely long chain stays for comfort in the saddle all day, stability when loaded and for heal clearance when carrying bags. The derailleurs and shifters are Suntour Cyclone II with a long cage rear, the crank is a triple Sakae with 50 45 28 gearing for steap hills, heavy loads or bad legs. The wheels have been replaced with hand built 700c Mavic Super Champion Gentleman rims and high flance hubs with new tires and tubes. The chain and freewheel are new and the bearings have all been lubed. If you know touring bikes you know this is a perfect bike for the fall touring season. I am 5'10" and it is too tall for me and needs a rider over 6'. The price is firm. Sorry but you must include a phone number or I will assume the response is spam. I am near the Riverside T stop and can meet you there if that is more convenient.

[h=2]Classic 1987 Dave Scott Centurion Ironman 58-60cm - $300 (Davis sq)[/h]

Date: 2012-08-25, 4:03PM EDT

This is a classic tri-bike great for triathlons, racing, or simply riding for fun. It's in nearly perfect condition, just a little dirty and with a few minor scratches. I'm the second owner and have only put a few hundred miles on it; judging from its condition (original components and even tires) the first owner probably rode it as little as I have. Cr-Mo frame, horizontal dropouts, and a beautiful, classic paint job. It's got classic nitto drop down bars and all original shimano 600 components, which were top of the line racing components when this bike was built. Classic suicide shifters, front derailleur is friction, rear is indexed. It's also been setup with SPD clip less pedals which have minor rust but work great (and are cheap to replace anyway).

I love this bike and think the styling is really sexy, but I rarely ride it - my modern bikes get all of my attention, and I do more touring than racing. I've considered turning it into a single speed or fixie, but I feel guilty stripping a classic bike (no judgement if that's what you're planning to do). I'm moving across the country in a few weeks and need to sell most of my bike collection, so I've grudgingly decided to part with this one.

I hope it finds a good home. I won't sell it to anyone who's just going to flip it on Craigslist for a quick buck.

Weird. I never could figure out why anyone would want one of those fairings -esp that one which looks like it makes the bike *less* aero....

[h=2]Trek Y Foil Carbon Fiber 21" Racing Bike - $950 (Lincoln)[/h]

Date: 2012-08-26, 3:11PM EDT

Innovative U.S. hand built carbon fiber racing bicycle developed for Lance Armstrong's use in the Tour de France. The Y Foil was only in production for two years, in 1998 and 1999, until the bike was banned from international road bike racing due to the "unfair advantage" of the innovative frame design (it was too fast!). There were two initial Y Foil models; this is the top end model, gold in color and hand built, with top components. The bike has developed quite a cult following over the years due to its beautiful design and distinctive look--you will turn heads when you pass people on this ride. It is truly a work of art.
In pristine condition, test ridden only for fewer than 50 miles. Top of the line Dura Ace components, cutting edge Rolf wheels. This bike is an absolute rocket. Owned and maintained by the retired owner of a bike shop in Lincoln. Triathlon legal, an amazing bargain for any serious biker.

Anyone ever heard of these? I kind of want it but shipping would be a deal breaker with that fairing.

Top of the line Maserati bicycle from 1978, professionally repainted dark red, with rear rack, makes a great all-weather commuter. Wonderful resilient Italian high quality steel frame and long-tongued lugs make for a smooth, direct, efficient ride. Beautiful Campy components. The pictures below show a faring (windshield) which is no longer on the bike. Owned, ridden, and lovingly maintained by a retired bike shop owner. If you've never experienced the joy of riding a vintage hand built Italian steel road bike, you owe it to yourself to take this beauty on a spin. Priced to sell!

I have a friend who rides a Maserati. Full Campy, very light frame. IIRC it is either SL or SLX. He had his repainted a few years back and had a local shop hand make replacement DT decals.

Sorry, his has no fairing.
