This is all about having fun.

I didn't buy it, as it didn't fit me.

The buyer made a great choice though.

I'm pretty excited...I have a very high opinion of Mooney. The seller seems like a great guy. I've got a set of campy triples I've been sitting on that should be perfect here if I can source a bb spindle. I'll likely use a more modern derailleur...XT or Suntour. I'm not likely to go pure bred on this.

Awhile back, someone in the C&V forum was seeking a jr. size racer. Perhaps not classic, but your future medalist might like this:
Trek 1000 Alpha Road Race/ Tri Bicycle Jr. 43cm
$350

make / manufacturer: Trek
model name / number: 1000 Alpha
size / dimensions: 43cm

Ridden to about a dozen first-place finishes, this is an excellent condition Trek 1000 Alpha Road Race & Triathlon Bike. This is the real deal and it's designed to fit your child and provide him or her with the proper competitive set up. It has a Trek custom alpha aluminum frame with aero down tube and a Chromoly front fork. It has a Shimano Sora/Tiagra 21 speed gear set with proper shifters integrated into the brakes. The brakes are Shimano Sora as well. It has Matrix anodized aluminum aero rims. The bike also includes quick release hubs easy wheel changes and transport. In like excellent condition, this bicycle at $350 is a steal at half the price of new. Your child will love it!

The asking price is far too optimistic, IMO, given their condition, but these are relatively rare pedals and could respond nicely to a little TLC. There is a "Make an Offer" button:

Rare Campagnolo Record 'Con Denti' Set of Pedals

Very rare set of Campy 'con denti' pedals. These have 9/16th threaded spindles and one pedal is missing a dustcap. As found, they could use some elbow grease and will clean up nicely!

This 520 would need to be un-fixed (or not). Might be a little high, but the paint looks to be in good condition

Mine is "or not". This photo was taken just after fixification. It currently awaits a complete overhaul after a pretty brutal winter of commuting.

American classic, hand built Trek 1983 700. Condition is good and pretty.
Both frame and fork are Reynolds 531c. You'll never find a Reynolds fork.
The components are upgraded from SunTour which is original to Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport.
Brakes, levers, crankset, derailleur, etc. are all campy. So, it's likely 700 frame with 640 components for upgrade.
I can see some old grim but no rust.
Stem, pedals, tires and rims are not original. Saddle is original.
Wheels are rather modern Mavic G40 rims with Gator Skin tires. Hubs are Campagnolo.

Size is 22.5". Serial # on frame is 062000. 60TSI - Tim S. Isaac designed frame.
Stand over height is 34" with my tape measure - so someone with 33" inseam and higher is suitable.
I'd say 5'10" and higher, because I'm 5'9" and a little too big for me, otherwise I'd happily ride it.
I set the saddle to the bottom, and that's about my height, but the top tube hits me when I stand.
(I need 21" frame, and all other bikes I have are indeed 52cm - 54cm.)
The top tube length is 56cm. The seat tube length is also 56cm according to the specs.

Price is negotiable depending on what you are going to do with it, because I want someone to actually ride the bike.
Wit this price, I can buy something similar on eBay - less nicer one goes for $500 or as high as $700 even with SunTour components. If I chop-shop this one, I can make killing on eBay, but as I said, I want someone to ride this bike.

I'd consider a trade with frame size 21" (21" is about 53.3cm. 52cm - 54cm), as long as it's as nice as this one.
(Yeah, bar tape is torn but that's an easy fix.)
I'm not into vintage-ness so any bike with good butted cromoly frame/cromoly fork at any age is a candidate for trade.

1964 Coppertone Paramount

Early 1960's Schwinn Paramount in Original Condition NO Dings

Looks to be a late '64 according to the unusual serial numbering used prior to '66: Determine the Manufacturing Date

Based on the components and painted lugs it is a P12, here are the spec. pages:

Schwinn catalogs, 1961 - 1970 (210 of 765)
Schwinn catalogs, 1961 - 1970 (206 of 765)

After checking my '65 parts catalog I see that those Lyotard (6567) pedals were original on the P12 (vs. Campy on the P13). In fact it seems like literally *everything* is there and correct except the saddle and toe straps.

I believe the original saddle (Schwinn no. 7083) on that bike was a Brooks B17, probably a Competition Standard model. From what I recently learned the Brooks Professional (Schwinn no. 7084) wasn't used until '65: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...-question.html

In the description he says $650 firm but the title now shows $500. Considering the originality, completeness and color it seems like a bargain.

He "wonders what it is worth". Depending on your outlook (and how you feel about this bike), this is either an opportunity or a waste of time.
