He plays and has maybe 6 guitars. Last time I visited he said "i have something for you" and sent me home with this because he "hadn't played it in a year or more". Ok. Apparently a friend of his had given it to him.
It reminded me that he'd always had a 12 string around when I was a kid and I asked him what'd become of it. He ran down to the basement (It rivals Neals basement if Neal was a wood worker/wine maker and computer guy) and came back with this and some story about a cat jumping on it? The story didn't add up but I've learned when to ask questions...
Thanks! Are you not sure what you have due to identifying it or because you have so many you cant remember?

The couch is NOT a Stickley. Orignally it was a fold out loveseat sized bed with a spring box and feather tick mattress. It was in bad shape with an awful velvet re-do upholstery job. We took it to a local furniture maker in the early '90's who re-used the sides and built a knock-down version of a settle. I'm on the road right now, but when I'm home I'll take a picture of it.
That could be an even more obscure thread... "Let's see some Arts and Crafts Era Homes..."

D-25's are one of my favorite Guilds. Spruce top, or all mahogany, arched laminated back or solid flat back - they all sound good. The ones from the early 70's are built quite light, the later ones can be heavy, but they still sound great.

no guitars but I recently got a decent violin- its faux vintage (copy of a Guadagnini) but still classic in its own way. Jay Haide which is actually two people, one in Berkeley and one in China who make very nice fiddles for those of us who can't afford full artisan craft. Sort of like a nice production Japanese copy of a handcrafted Italian race bike. still does its business very well but you don't have to mortgage your house.

So, I stopped into a thrift at lunch today....
1968 Kay C1 bass. Plays really nice and is outfitted with Underwood pickups. Bridge has been upgraded as well.
And I thought bikes were hard to sneak into the house. Actually, the wife is totally digging it.
Upgraded adjustable bridge.

How about some old-timey drums? I cobbled together this set from 50's concert bass drum and snare, and a field drum from the 1920's. Bass and snare are Slingerland and the field drum is Ludwig. Calf and goatskin all around.

Late 60's/early 70's Hagstrom Viking. I've never run the serial number to try and figure out when it was made. I saved up my money in middle school for this one for jazz band and kept it, I've had it 25 years now. I tossed it up on Craigslist last year just to see if I got any hits and some guy who claimed to be the original owner came to my house and played it and offered me $50 for it because of the weather checking (that it had in abundance already when I bought it.) It's a good player, but the pickups leave much to be desired. The original pickguard broke years ago and it had some Klusons on it, the ones with the green-ish knobs, that barely worked.

I've been meaning to get some pix taken- finally did- but I think I'm going have to redo these.
I haven't bought a "new to me" guitar in a very long time- short story long, I've sorta been looking for an easy to play bass, I was listening to a LOT of the Knack- my secret plan was to find a Guild M85. After doing some research, I found the Starfire II was really similar to the M85- this one was around, I got kind of a deal on it- so in the interest of Chris Hillman, Phil Lesh, Jack Casady and Prescott Niles- my 1973 Guild Starfire II:
