Big and Not So Little...
Thought I would take a few pics of Forrest and the new kid...
Forrest (the Phillip's 20) is non stock and has custom frame angles.
Wonder what would happen if they mated...

The outcome would depend on their gender.
If the Surly were female, it would either kill/eat Forrest midway through the mating ritual in Instecta Class fashion or Forrest would 'hit it and quit it'... little guys rarely remain with larger women.
If the Surly were male then bystanders would probably turn a hose on the Surly for forcing itself on the petite little Phillips... my neighbors did that when they saw a Lab 'frolic' with a Miniature Poodle.
However, if both bikes were the same sex, they just wouldn't be allowed to marry and have the same civil rights as 'traditional' couples.

Oh... my mistake.
1) If you're lucky, persistent and don't mind weeding out the undesirables of the litter you could end up with a Honda CT90 (sans motor):

Was also considering building up a front power assist for the Pug which would use the front wheel, which is a rear with an SS drive sprocket which is rather convenient.

Sixty: Are you going to use a extracycle or make a longtail the DIY way? Would you start with a R20 (asking since the fold is a bit zig-zagy) or a folder with a more common type fold? I am aking to start my detatchable longtail but had to do the brakes on my car first.

I use only one front chainring on that bike so a medium reach would be enough. Hmm.. Need to pull out the bikestuff tomorrow to beat you to it I guess . We`ll see. Got two solutions in mind. Just got hold of another 20" rear triangle from a "full suspension" childrens bike. Think I`ll post about in the utiliti forum.

The new rear triangle has proper drop outs and a hangar as well as cable guides, new V brake bosses, and threaded bridges with for clean fender mounting.
Last night I rode through the river valley and was bombing descents at 50 kmh and was climbing 12% + grades like they were not there and this is with one leg that does not participate fully... one climb out of the valley is 2km long with a grade of 10% - 12%.
In my bailout gear of 24 gear inches... for demonstration.
My new 7 speed Ultra block... built this up from my cog board and went with 5 closely spaced gears with two lower steps instead of running a tighter 6 with a huge step to the bailout. Even off the middle 48 I can get down to 30 gear inches which will get me up any normal grade here.
Climbed this... short but steep and covered in pea gravel over hard pack... it was too easy.
Coming down was a little trickier...

The combination of the SRAM X7 and Suntour friction barcons is like a match made in heaven... the X series has a light but very precise action and I had to re-learn how to shift as I am used to having a little more resistance on these shifters.
It is as good as running indexed and the barcon allows you to cover the entire block in a single light movement of the shifter.

I have seen most of the details already (apart from the threaded bridges), this bike is droolworthy! Thank you for your description!
My der folder has a 46 in the front and I think a 12-? 8 speed casette. I mainly ride with the dog and almost always with a trailer and my legs are not strong enough for bigger chainrings.
I am working again on the two 70`s detatchable 20" bikes. Had some braze ons made to atatch Surly cable hangers so I can use a https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/thorn-cab...each-prod8560/ to split or connect the cable for a Nexus7 w coaster brake like Bruce did on a Moulton.
Just laced up a rollerbrake wheel for the front. This is not a speed machine but a detatchable bombproof "shopper", travel and/or utility bike. The other one is getting the same treatment but stretched to a longtail.
