Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I haven't been around much, dealing with a great deal of work related crap, so I only incidentally catch pages. I looked in and saw this about @coasting, and have to say that this is worse than any of the crap I am dealing with daily, and I will miss him. Even though we are only "internet friends", that friend element of all of you is important to me.

It will have to include odd food choices, both on the bike and afterwards, of course. What else?

Aack. We chatted here and there, @coasting was a funny, and decent fellow. His snark was off the hook funny. 40s is way too young.

Absolutely correct. But it is so strange, when you are lying on the gurney in the ER and a nurse or doc comments on your low age (49) at the time of your MI. It has got to happen all the time.

It's the time of the year where I make regular trips to the home center and load my car up with heavy ****. Just got back with some 12' long cedar posts and some concrete mix. Now to decide if I really want to get out the ol' post hole digger and start the real labor in earnest.

Maybe after lunch.

Good club ride today. We changed our meeting spot to a new French bakery that just opened up, called "La Baguette Magique," so I called today's ride "Le Velo Magique" which makes me think of @Heathpack's magic bike.

Can't seem to pull up the thread post count, but we kept that BF classic going for a long time.

...if God had meant for us to dig post holes without a power auger, he would not have put them in the rental tool inventory.
