'm convinced they put something in that stuff thats addicting. I like having a cup of breakfest blend before my morning ride and I believe it helps but I not so sure if another brand would be just as good. By the way I would never drink that double half caf carmel machiato stuff because thats just gay!!!!

Its funny listening to people order drinks that have like fifteen different things to them.

Or the folks that order "nothing" drinks.
"I'd like a tall non-fat, no-whip, sugar free, lactose free, robusta free, arabica free, non-unlatte."
I'm waiting to see a barista just hand over an empty cup.

I'm waiting for a FSA to come out with a light weight, aerodynamic, carbon fiber, mini-espresso maker that you attach to your stem and make your own espressos while you ride.

If you really, really like a good hamburger you don't go to McDonalds. Well, I really, really like good coffee. So, you can draw your own conclusion.

Didn't you know, Starbucks is an anti trade union anagram for SCAB TURKS. It's a money laundering scam fleecing corporate America and Canada and Brittain. Did you know Starbucks are not allowed in France? Think about it.
I like my coffee dark and simple. A little like me. Starbucks always tastes burnt.
Having said that, There's nothing like starting a ride with a shot of espresso.

BYW, the dehydrating effects of caffeine are rather minimal, and more than made up for by the water in the coffee itself.
I avoid Starbucks as much as possible. I'd far prefer to support the small mom-n-pop coffee shops that are actually pretty cool, rather than just branded as such by a team of suits. Besides, Starbucks burns their roast, so it tastes like ass. (e;fb)
Tho I don't do coffee on a ride. Gatorade or water.

OCP question-How many Starbucks latte's do you consume on a ride?
I think they just stay at Starbucks. Otherwise the OCP cranks might get those unsightly wear marks on them. The embroidering on the saddles may get worn threads too.
That would be unacceptable.

cyclebutt,
Go down to LA and get into the Montrose ride. Bring your freshest legs and see if you can hang on. It ends at a Starbucks. Those boys are VERY serious. 100+ rider, 45 mile all-out hammerfest.
You think Starbucks is a blight on modern society and you drink COKE**********???
Puh-leeeeeeze!!!! Think about what music you are playing before you jump on the bandwagon.
If you want some serious caffene, go to Peet's. This is the coffee that Lance drinks. I'm suprised that everyone here is not drinking it. They made a big deal about Lance having it shipped to him on the Lance Chronicles. I don't drink coffee, but I'm an iced-tea drinker. I can drink Starbuck's iced tea all day. Two iced teas from Peet's and I feel like I'm getting Parkinson's. My wife says their coffee makes Starbuck's seem like water.

i usually have a bagel with hummus and a Coke after my Sunday morning rides. (really good bagel place at/near the ride meeting point)

Ok, let me engage in some gratuitous (sp?) cultural superiority...
1. Starbucks is not coffee.
2. Coffee is, what you all call an ' espresso'.
3. It is only available in Italy.
4. When ordering it in Italy, all you have to ask for is a 'caffe' (accent on the final 'e'). They will understand.
Jokes aside, my father-in-law once took me to a Starbucks, thinking I would appreciate a coffee far from home (knowing that I am an addict). Holy moly it was bad. In a paper cup (in Italy we shoot people for far less than that). Half a liter of vaguely brown liquid. Yuuuuucccckkkk.
Never again. Outside of the Middle East, Ethiopia, the Balkans, Turkey and the Caucasus (where you can get a good cup of Turkish coffee) coffee is not drinkable. That's it.
Sorry, now I will stop complaining!
