Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i dont really know much about bikes, and i want to buy one. i ve found this really nice looking bike on ebay for £200 (around $400) but i am wondering whether it worths the money. it doesnt seem to be of any major brand. so if anyone can enlighten me, that would be great.
the link for it is :

Are you 14+? If so, it's obviously the bike for you. By the way, this thread is for displaying your bikes, not for asking which bike to buy.

update my pic... complete with garage door. ('95 w/ mostly mid 80s campy parts) still need a longer stem (I'm not 15 anymore...) and a different saddle.

thanks

thanks for the reply. i am 14 + indeed.

i know this thread is not for asking which bike to buy, but i needed an answer fast, plus this website is over complicated with so many topics that it would take me ages to find the correct one to post it to. so i just clicked on the one with the most entries, hoping that some nice person will reply back to me. so there was a hidden plan behind it, which it worked..
my question about this bike was more if the specs it has worth $400 or not, as i dont have the technical knowledge about bikes to tell. so i was just wondering if someone is buying parts and puts the bike together, and then overcharges for it. cause it says on the advert that this bike in the market costs $1000, but he sells it for $400. so i was wondering if it a rip off or not.

any other people willing to have a look at the link ant comment would be grateful. thanks in advance.

With what appears to be a full Ultegra group, including pedals.

Some of us use the commute as training. And then swing off to stop at Peet's before heading to the office.

So, this is the new ride I just got last week. I haven't been on a bike in about ten years (I'm only 21) but I'm surprised how good a shape I'm in. This is fun, even in a hilly town like mine. I just did about 12 miles out the the State Botanical Garden and back this evening with a detour through downtown.

Riding in traffic is a serious high. Kind of like riding a roller coaster. It's just dangerous enough to give me a rush.

Also, does anyone know why BF doesn't like images with links from Flickr? I had to dig up my old Photobucket account to get this photo up.

This is my new Scott Speedster S50. I picked it up last Sunday and have ridden 75 miles since. I am new to cycling and I love it. It's going to be pretty much a huge chunk of my life.
