Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I like the file name of your pic. "CAAD8-standing-mysteriously.jp"
I think I've used that bell once since I got it. I use the noise of the freehub more.

That filename is what I came up with before I hit "save".. lol

It was WAY easy to do, too. Set the bike down, set the camera on the table by the mailboxes, set the timer and press the shutter, and pick up the bike for its shot, holding it by any part on the opposite side from the camera. Take another pic without the bike, then hit Photoshop (or Gimp, etc; anything with layers makes it easy).

A couple things to pay attention to would be whether the presence of the person and bike change the exposure and if the focus remains at the same distance. Neither of those would be an issue with a camera that has more control than my point-n'-shoot, though.

My bike. It's a 1984 (pretty sure that's the right year) Colnago Celo Europa - Celo Super... sorry for the lame background. It's the best I could do for white. P.S. Sorry if I did something wrong in the pics. This is my first post.

My father has the CX version of that frame (Lemond Poprad). Great frame to ride, really sad the brand is dead.

Litespeed Icon

I know, flip it, once I get a new fork. I need the bars where they are at for now and my steer tube is too short for me.
Also I'm sorry I don't have a white garage door, so San Francisco will have to do.

My new Paul Taylor, just built it up and rode it today for it's first ride. 40 pretty quick miles, stable, steady, great descender (I wish the engine had a little more power for the climbs though) 19.75lbs on my Ultimate digital scale, not too bad for steel with no thoughts about weight reduction. I do have a pair of DT Swiss RR1450 waiting patiently.

Paul was great to work with, answered all my doof questions and built the bike that I wanted.

Your GT turns me misty-eyed with nostalgia; my first real road bike was a GT Shogun Ninja (in hideous pink) with Shimano 600. Great bike it was. Yours is sweet looking. I am enamored of those funky seat stays on GTs. What's the back story on your bike? Is that a new or used frame?

I just got a ridiculous deal on my dream bike:

2008 Cervelo SLC-SL
SRAM Red (minus the Dura Ace chain and cassette)
3T Ergosum Bars
3T ARX Team Stem (awaiting the 100mm/-17 I ordered; 110mm/-6 is on now)
3T Funda Pro Fork
Specialized Ruby Saddle
Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels (Zipps will be coming when I get promoted next year)
Look Keo Carbon Pedals

This bike is UNBELIEVABLE. Every time I ride it, I am blown away by something new; it is an absolute dream.

Tommasini Velocista

Just picked this up. I plan to build it up with Campy stuff slowly, right now it's a mix of all kinds of stuff.

1999 Tommasini Velocista (Steel)

Shimano 600 shifters/levers
Campy Record front derailer
Ultegra rear derailer
Campy headset
Campy rear wheel with shimano hub and 8 speed cassette
Mavic cosmos front wheel with Mavic hub
Shimano 600 cranks

It'll be a slow build, but this frame is my dream frame. - Here's my cellphone pics.....
