Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did those wheels cost as much as the bike?

Almost! Got a good deal on them. Make a hell of a difference to the ride quality, I personally saw it as a bigger upgrade that just a low end full carbon bike with stock wheels.

2011 Specialized Roubaix Comp

This bike has been posted before but since I recently put on a new Toupe saddle, some new Roubaix Armadillo Elite tires, and a Speedzone Sport Computer, I took this pic and thought I'd share.

So which Cycling brand do you like the most again?

I'm here sitting wondering what brand shoes and helmet you use

Shimano shoes and Specialized Max helmet...LOL. My favourite LBS is a Specialized dealer, but I guess you might have figured that out by now.

Does that really do anything? I just recently picked up some Race Blades for wet riding. Fitment seems to be pretty good, but I have yet to actually ride it in the rain yet. I believe this Saturday I may get my chance.

My first and current road bike. Just started a week ago, bought it off craigslist..I think it's a little too big for me though I'm 5'5 and its a 54cm so I put the saddle down.

I was wondering what the Lotto Belissol rider had during a race (was it M-SR?). I thought it was nice/minimalistic.

Thanks for the link.

Yes, it was M-SR. In those conditions I would go for full fenders, but as I watched the race I thought it would be a great add-on for Spring and Summer cloud bursts.

I bought two because I thought these would be a very temporary fix, but they're actually quite sturdy and no more prone to breakage than you're average plastic fender such as the Crud or SKS offerings.

Nice bike. On your speed sensor put the arm down between the chainring and the spokes.
