Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

ahh, yeah the GF01 will suit your needs for sure. that bike screams "you can ride this bike all-damn-day comfortably"

TMR01 on my very short list (hopefully) 2-3 yrs from now when I get sick of my RM01

Just got it today 2012 Trek Madone 4.5 I skipped aluminum and went straight for carbon on my first purchased road bike. I took it out for a 20 mile ride and it is simply wonderful. A bit distracting though because now all I can think about is riding it.

Envious, I wanted carbon on my first road bike but just couldn't swing it. Had to do aluminum. I'm just glad I got one with 10sp 105 setup.

When I started looking I was going for aluminum and I was deciding between a TCR SL 2 and a CAAD 10 5. I decided on the Madone when I went to the Trek store to get some new bibs I saw a Madone 3.1 that I was interested in but it was too big for me but one of the other stores had a 4.5 in my size for a little more than the 3.1 and I bit, it was on clearance so I got a good price. It ended up costing slightly more than the 2013 Madone 2.3.

IMO it looks like the saddle is a bit far to the back but if that's the way you can make it work with your 'long' torso, then go for it.
I'm like the exact opposite, long legs, short torso

Yes, due to my longe torso, based on the markings on the saddle rails, I'm about 5mm from the rearward limit, but I think part of it is also the visual effect of the ISM Adamo saddle designs with their chopped noses and extended tails.

you're right, at the end the nose curves a little downward which enhances that effect

Here's my Ridley Noah, size L
Cosmic Carbone SL wheels
Ultegra 6700 groupset
120mm 3T stem and 40cm Ergonova bars
MTB pedals (simple and works well, and I mainly ride MTB XC).

I like it, very stiff and responsive. I'm starting on a road bike again after many year of mountain biking. And the saddle position and slope is perfect for me as it is, don't tell me to change it. And I forgot to put it on the big ring for the photo. But at least I have a brick wall .

I'm not typically a fan of blue things, but this is really classy. That parts mix works perfectly with the frame. Looks great. And good steel with tubeless, probably rides like a dream... Kudos.

Thanks, Toby! It is an absolute joy to ride. I took her out on her maiden voyage yesterday for a 32-mile club ride and I set three new PRs in Strava. On those, my heart rate was a full 10-20 BPM lower than any previous results on the same segments. That's insane! Yet, amazingly enough, the bike is at LEAST as comfortable, if not more so than on my previous bike. I expected an improvement in performance, but certainly not of this magnitude. To stay I'm stunned is an understatement, but it is fantastic!
