Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

it may be excessive but sram asks you to have extra cable to create a straight line as it enters the rear derailleur.
Oh wow.. I didn't realize that was SRAM Red on the Cervelo until now. Their 2012 line looks like a combo between the 2011 shifters and new campy stuff.

I don't mind the DA cranks. Not the sexiest crank out there but not horrible - I'm sure they're pretty light and stiff.

Hot. The all-black works the way it's configured. But the bars seem a little thick - are they padded that well or is the tube that think?

I'm trying out some Zipp 404s for the weekend to see what all the fuss about aero wheels is all about.

Your not going to want to give them back. Demo a pair of tubulars if they are available...don't sell yourself short.

I did not self-proclaim my bike "hot", jeepseahawk did.

I agree that my pic is a bit blurry - I took a pic of the first day I brought it back home with my wife's iPhone.

One question, should I take the HED wheel stickers off? The rest of the bike does not have any stickers because all the logos are etched. Also, what do you think about using a silver or red hub with silver spokes instead (next wheel build).

Logos never look good. Especially on wheels

They do make you look like a pretentious person with too much money, though. I'd say take them off.

Thanks! They're definitely nice wheel and sexy too but I think a total overkill for my riding . I'm picky especially when it comes to dropping some major $ and the one thing that annoyed me the most was the noise. The free hub is LOUD. Its like having an angry bee choked up on speed next to your ear when coasting at speed. There is also that particular road sound when riding but I guess that comes with deep carbon wheels. I like to clear my head when riding and this did not help. They felt great at higher speeds pushing to go faster and climbed well too, although I was able to flex the rear once going up a very steep part of a hill out of the saddle. Heard breaks rubbing. Accelerating was good but not as snappy as I'd like. I'd like to try something less deep but still semi aero like 38mm.

^the loud freehub and carbon rims not a welcome addition to sram red "megaphone" powerdome cassette, and sram red "percussion instrument" chain?

I need to take a better picture but here's a quick one from yesterday to show off the fresh tape and new bars:
