Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Buddy at work likes to bid on these big lots of items that have been lost in the USPS and sit unclaimed for a couple of months. Then he sells the stuff online for profit. He just recently got a couple of lots and found 2 or 3 Continental Grand Prix 4-Seasons tires in 700x25 that he's going to hook me up with. Sweet!

Zippy, thanks for the tip. It better than having the coffee shop cap.

Waiting to hear from the guy putting my new 50cm Trek 520 together. He said that he would call me later today and hopefully he can get it done today so I can pick it up (he did offer to bring it up to me as the shop is a 40 mile trip and he lives fairly close to me. But I am just too antsy and want to get on it asap. 'Sides .. there is a nice bike trail across the street from the shop :0)

Anyone rolling with one of these gold plated cages?
I stumbled upon these on ebay.
Weight weenies will probably have a coronary.
Just add a few Swarovski crystals and it would be perfect. ;-)

Stan's is sending me a warranty replacement Alpha 340 rim.

When rebuilding my rear wheel with a new BHS SL210 hub, I noticed a crack at a spoke hole. I called Stan's this morning, and they offered to send a new one to me free of charge.

IMO, Alpha 340 are great rims for ultra lightweight wheels. I weigh about 170, and got 15,000 miles of use out of them before having a problem.

Woohoo my new Conti GP4S's saved me 285 grams total rotating weight as compared to my stock Vittoria Zaffiro wire-bead tires. They weighed in right around 220 grams each vs. 360+ each for the old tires.

Thanks, the Ghisallo is my favourite
Bang for buck, the Reynolds 46 tubular is the best wheelset, but if you can get a set of RZR's for the same price I'd go for those

Yes, I have shortened the rear brake outer casing, with Yokozuna being compressionless you can go with a straighter path

Don't tell the finance manager though. but I've collected a lot of carbon tubular wheelsets over time, at last count it was 5 LOL
