Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Col de Peyresourde (eastern side) in the Pyrenees a couple of weeks back. Great descent.

Pictures like this are cool because it's like being there. Like I was on that road from that view.

Machka, you either look back a lot, or ride on the wrong side of the road.

Ok, so this isn't taken from the actual road - but at least it fulfills the fall colors request!

I took this one while riding on my cross bike just before the leaves were turning. It feels kind of dreamy because it's taken with my camera phone while I'm moving.

Very top of alpe d'huez, unfortunately there's a car in it.

Bike path in Finland.

Rail grade in Ontario.

Door to Moria.

Soon this will be the open road...

I've actually done that to a lot of photos from here. Some I just flip to make it the right side of the road, some I take out bikes, cars, people. I like the feeling of being out on the road alone. Most of the photos are obvious if you zoom in, but for my TV as a screen saver, it works well.

Wait a sec ... what are you doing with our photos?

And what do you mean by "Some I just flip to make it the right side of the road"?

I don't know about that. You are messing with other peoples pics, and some take that personal without you asking. That being said, I did like you making the car vanish.
