Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I saw some baby llamas on today's ride. I was unsure what sound to make.

I do as well. I seem to pass more horses than cows, and for some reason I whistle at them. I pass an emu (yes, in Western Ky - an emu), and I have no idea what to say to it. Honestly, it scares me more than most of the dogs on my ride - thank goodness the fence seems sturdy!!

My two year old son like to make siren noises when we pass a fire engine in the car. I found myself doing the same thing on the bike the other day. Maybe I need more sleep.

I think it is rude not to say hello to fellow riders as you pass. I am sure the cows and animals feel the same way.
I think most animals do not answer back, probably due to our use of proper accent. (Southern Cows not understandfding Northern bikers) But once in a while one does and responds back.

If you wear bike clothes and look anything like Lance, they will ignore you anyway.

As soon as the cows on my local century route found out my saddle was made from Lorica, we were cool.

Moo!
