Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone else notice how @coasting never mentions Mutton anymore? That is why I shouldn't get a dog: too easy to forget about.

BS. I remember when it happened well. I would have loved to have seen the Polo Grounds. Ebbets Field too for that matter, but what's the use. What's gone is gone.

You use your thighs to smell the flowers? They are among us apparently as many had feared.

My dad took us to one game at Ebbets field. He loved the Dodgers - Duke Snider, Roy Campanella, Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson - that's all he talked about.

The Polo Grounds, on the other hand, were a Manhattan team and I saw several game there. But not baseball, because you couldn't be a Giants fan in my dad's house. LOL The Titans football team, predecessor to the Jets, used to play there, and I saw them several times.

Not all that you see belongs to me. I'm responsible for about an acre. 42" mower.

I keep seeing promos for "adventure" bikes. It almost makes me want to put drop bars and disc brakes on the mountain bike.

I had the 'goose like that for a while. Would like to do it again but need some wider bars. The 38s I got for $10 are nice on the road but I'd like wider for hitting the dirt.

I guess I had the Park Pre like that, too but the goose was a better fit. Suntour Barcons on the Park Pre, Ultegra 9sp brifters on the goose.

I'm going to keep it flat bar, since I have a pair of thumbies that I'm going to use with my old DT shifters.
