stopping handlebars from hitting the frame

So I have bar-end shifters, and they are taking a beating from the handlebars swinging around and slamming them into the top tube.

Is there anyway to stop this, maybe some kind of steering limiter?

yep, that's it.

are they worth much? this one was complete, but a little faded and the plastic did look a tad brittle, probably from being left in the sun too long.
