This is not SSFG specific, but I spend most of my time on this forum and a lot of you are very knowledgeable.

Anyways, I need to find a new floor pump and price is not a concern if necessary to get a really good quality floor pump for both high volume/low pressure or low volume/high pressure tires. It should have a accurate and legible pressure gauge and work on both Presta and Schrader valves. My current pump is a Topeak Joe Blow Pro that has developed some sort of internal valving problem that I've been unable to fix, such that it won't pump air into the tire and instead violently shoots the handle out the barrel practically killing me in the process. I suppose I could just buy another Topeak, since this one has provided many years of good service until recently, but maybe there's better choices.

any lezyne floor pump, i got the steel drive from chain reaction for $50
it goes up to 220psi and the quality is fantastic, high psi but also enough volume to seat 3" tubeless tires without a compressor

gonna replace the gauge with a digital one cuz im a nerd(yes they are user serviceable)

shrader/presta compatible with multiple connectors, air bleed valve to back out some psi's

Another vote for Lezyne. I like that the head unscrews to switch from presta to schrader. Plus the wooden handle is nice.


Edit: mine has a different (older?) style head than the one in the video or your link.

as far as i know mechannically theyre all the same, except for the difference in HV/HP

and from what i can tell the alum ones are more money (not sure why)

i also have the travel floor drive and its alum and its taken a serious beating and still works flawlessly

also the '16 models have an updated QR chuck that is really nice, probably gonna get one of those too, works just like the connector for air tools

4-1/2 years. It's really worked well until recently when it began attacking me. I've twice rebuilt the head, which includes a new O-ring for the plunger.

I would not recommend the Nashbar L'Orang. I have the older v1 and it was really good but now seems like it doesn't like to seal on presta valves.

I've got a Joe Blow as well and it seems to work better. One cool thing about the L'Orange is that the pressure gauge is at the top so you can actually read it.

Another satisfied Lezyne user, both Floor and Road drive models. Be sure to bleed a little pressure before attaching that ABS chuck, the mechanism is sensitive to the valve getting stuck and you can ruin your pump.

I too use the Lezyne Steel Drive, it's the first good pump I've ever bought. I wonder why I hadn't bought something better than the cheap Schwinn pump I've had for years that would barely lock onto the valve, or pop off once you started to hit the kind of pressures you'd run on a road tire.

Satisfied Joe Blow Pro user here. LBS sells and uses them in the shop. I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

I've had a Specialised sport pump for yonks, just bought a Birzman pump (220psi) and one of the Silca presto chucks, cos I wanted Silca but also wanted to have like $500 in my bank account and NOT have to explain that purchase.
It is an awesome setup, though presta only I also bought a threaded adapter and Silca make a schrader chuck that will fit as well. It is pricey but it is awesome.

i've been using my joe blow sport for the last 8yrs without incident....i did replace the head a few years ago with a specialized smart head and it was a great "upgrade"....i wasn't a huge fan of the separate presta/schrader valve head that came stock on it...

I love my cnc alloy drive. The digital gauge is spot on.
My only jeer is the digital gauge is not exactly real time but has a slight delay which only causes you to slow down a little bit toward your desired PSI. Also, the handle should've been silver, not black.

According to the Lezyne website, they are available in both silver and black.

As far as I know, @Mumonkan is right. The difference is just the handles and high pressure vs volume.

I have the orange-red Specialized. About 25 easy strokes to get 25c up from flat to 100psi. easy to read gauge, presta and schraeder with a really easy Zephal-like lock. Only complaint is that it is Specialized and I will not buy more from that company until I hear that it has become more ethical, a kinder member of the cycling world fraternity. (Going after a tiny shop in far Canada that was in no way a threat to them for using the word Roubaix in their name was for me the last straw. And it turned out Specialized didn't even own the rights to that name.)

I have a lot of Specialized stuff. When those items die, they will get replaced by something else. Sadly, it might take a while for that pump. (Rant, rant.
