Moto or Kilo TT, Should I wait???
So it seems like a lot of people like the Kilo TT and people also like the Motobecane Track. The problem is I need a 54cm or 53cm (I'm 5'10") and as of now the Kilo TT is pretty much out of anything in my size except for blue which I don't like enough to shell out 400$ for (I really prefer the chrome one). So should I wait for the Chrome Kilo TT to be back in stock, which could be god knows how long, or should I just bite the bullet and get the Moto?

Sizing on the Kilo is different than the Motobecane. The Kilo TT is c-c (center to center) and the Motobecane is c-t (center to top), so a 50 cm Kilo TT is the same as a 53 cm Motobecane. You can get a 50 cm Kilo TT in all their colors. The Kilo TT is a much much much better bike than the Motobecane Track.

Have you done a fit calculator? I'm 5'10 and I couldnt fit confortably on anything smaller than a 56cm. Given we are probably proportioned differently, but its a good thing to do.

According to the Fit Calculator
So it looks like I need something definitely bigger than 50cm for a Kilo TT. And The 54cm Moto still seems about right.

After reading up more on the Kilo TT and how the 53cm fits most dudes in my size range well I've decided to go with the moto. BD just doesnt have any 53cm Kilos in stock and with the money saved on buying the moto I can make upgrades along the way.

You can comfortably ride the 50cm Kilo according to your results.

As a newb I scratch my head and say "really?". I used to ride a Schwinn World Sport and it was 56cm; granted it was a little high for my liking but nothing crazy. Also, I saw a video on youtube of a kid standing over a 53cm Kilo and he says to the camera man that he's 5'7".
Kylen721 I believe what you're saying but I just can't wrap my head around the idea of a 50cm bike not being too short for a 5'10" guy with a 32" inseam. With that said, I really appreciate your feedback. It's hard to get solid responses sometimes.

did you measure your true inseam or is that from your pants? Just trying to be helpful, I've seen that mistake before
and yeah, i would agree with you, I doubt youd be close to comfortable on a 50cm.

Edit: Not that it means much for you sizing wise, but I am 5'9 and was very happy with my 50cm kilo.

Others may disagree with me, but top tube length to me is the most important measurement in sizing a frame. Based on your fit calculator results the 50cm Kilo is pretty much right on for you top tube length wise.

If standover is such a big concern for you, don't buy a track bike. Their high bottom bracket and traditionally straight top tube are going to make it difficult for you to get the inch of clearance that most bike manufacturers recommend. If you wanna flat-foot the bike at a traffic light, buy a mountain bike.
Height and inseam are not critical measurements when choosing a bicycle frame. Someone who's 5'7" with a long torso can indeed ride the same size bike as someone who's 5'10" and all legs. If you measured carefully, the fit calculator will give you accurate results for a given type of fit.
Finally, who cares if you look "weird?" You're weird looking to most people for riding a bike in the first place.

I just went back over the sizing on the bottom of the page and by the looks of it you're right on the 50cm. I had my girlfriend do the measuring for the calculator so I hope it was up to snuff. With you being 5'9 do you have a ton of clearance when standing over the bike? Meaning, am I going to look weird on this bike when guys that are 5'7 can ride it?

Alright folks.
It was never a matter of looking cool, it was only a matter of it fitting right. I'm glad I got it all cleared up.
I couldn't care less if I looked cool riding a bike, I may live in Brooklyn but I'm no hipster.
Thanks for all the help mates!
