Looking at the OBRA results, it looks like there were a few teams for the TT, and that there wasn't a tandem division for the Icebreaker crit, or the Silverton RR.

Doesn't seem to be off to a fyling start.

July 17th Update (10,480)

As always, these are just summaries. The actual entries with linked websites, objects, video's etc... can be found here:

Blog: https://tandemgeek.wordpress.com
Web: https://www.thetandemlink.com

Note: Yes, it's been nearly 4 weeks since my last summary. This one includes 15 items that I've written since June 23rd and only about 1/2 of them are tandem-related. So, yes... I've been a bit distracted of late. Hopefully we'll find ourselves back on the tandem in August and into the fall.

Harley Happenings…

OK, I will confess that we put way more miles on the Harley-Davidson this weekend than we did the tandem. Like 60:0, or there abouts. But, we have our reasons, and good ones at that! However, that said, the H-D stuff was both very cool and very interesting on a variety of fronts. #1 – [...] Read more…

Socially Inept… Yup, that’s me. With or without Tequila added.

No doubt about it, I’ve finally come to realize I’m becoming more maladroit and more prone to bouts of social ineptitude. So, to friends and family who have politely overlooked and tolerated my often times boorishness and bouts of grumpy, withdrawn and selfish behavior, let me first say I’m sincerely embarrassed and extend an apology [...] Read more…

Tire Wear & Square Tires

Anyone remember the Seinfeld episode, “The Dealership” where Kramer & the sales guy see how far they can run a Saab on empty? 500th Blog Entry… Good Grief

Yes, believe it or not, we just surpassed 500 Entries since creating our blog back in January 2010. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a red flag. Worse yet, I think our average entry has about 1,200 words, so I shudder to think how many hours all of that represents. Never mind [...] Read more…

While we didn’t attend this year’s Midwest Tandem Rally at Ann Arbor, Michigan, some 355 other folks did. A bit down from the 470 that attended MTR ’10 in Shipshewana, Indiana. We have been fortunate enough to receive and see some reports from the field. We’re still keeping an eye out for photo galleries and [...] Read more…

The Final Weekly Reader for The TandemGeek's Blog

October 9th Update (11,304)

As noted in the title above, this will be the final "Weekly Reader" we post here at BF. It's been nearly a month since our last update and over the past week I've wrestled with the future of The TandemGeek's Blog as well as our Website, TheTandemLink.com

At one point I was prepared to sunset both, but have since then revisited those decisions and decided to simply scale back the content and frequency of my blog entries and to move our "diary" content to a new blog. To that end, please see the following full text of my most recent blog entry where I explain the plan for what lies ahead.

=============================================

A New Dawn For The TandemGeek’s Blog … With The Start of a New Day Comes A “Lite” Version of our Blog

Based on a number of both public and private comments we’ve received since posting our plan to sunset [our] blog [earlier this week], we are modifying our “exit strategy”.

Rather than a complete sunset of the blog and our Website, we will continue to service the blog but new content will be limited to tandem-specific news related to rallies, clubs and the like.

Following this week’s final update, we are curtailing our practice of “pushing” summaries out to the Web-based lists as we have in the past; however, our subscribers will still receive Email notices as updates to this blog are posted.

We hope this will allow us to continue to serve the needs of tandem enthusiasts looking to connect to other tandem enthusiasts while freeing up some much needed personal time to pursue our own tandem cycling and other interests.

Finally, as it turns out, I still find maintaining a diary / blogging is something that helps me relax and that I find enjoyable. Therefore, we have created a new blog entitled Riding Two-Up to capture our personal adventures and interests… which will only be updated when I’m so moved.

The recent flurry of updates at Riding Two-Up represents a “backlog” of draft entries written for The TandemGeek’s Blog related to our motorcycling interests that had not yet been published. It is not representative of what the future will hold.

=============================================

The full text of the following blog summaries can be found at the following URL:

Thinking About My Last Blog Entry….

… and what to close with. Yup, I’m pretty sure I’m going to hang it up, a least as far as regular tandem blogging goes. Sort of a reprise....

Yes, it's like a Zombie Blog... I thought I'd killed it but it came back.

This is a summary of the entries I've made since my last post in October 2011. Posting activity is clearly way down, but rally updates continue along with some technical anecdotes interspersed with personal stuff that fills in the gaps in our riding when the weather doesn't cooperate.

The actual entries with linked websites, objects, video's etc. can be found here:

Time To Start Selling Off Excess Parts & Stuff…

Me thinks it’s time to start selling off excess bikes and parts again. I did a pretty big purge back in 1998 where we thinned the herd by selling off my ’84 Raleigh Prestige, ’92 Trek 2300, ’84 Gran Prix, a pair of custom Raleigh racing bikes, my ’87 Kuwahara Cougar MTB, and Debbie’s Novara MTB, along with a bunch of parts [...] Read more…

Recalibrating Our Riding Habits As We Gear Up For 2013….

Regular readers may recall that I’ve been trying to wean myself off of the two-blog habit, having officially “reunited” my non-cycling ramblings from “Riding Two Up” with “The TandemGeek’s Blog” back on January 13th. I’ve done my best to restrain myself but, frankly, given that we’ve been treated to a more traditional,not-so-mild winter the Harley’s [...] Read more…
