1995 Schwinn LeTour tire size
I am running 700 x 23 and can barely get fenders on. Bike doesn't look right it needs at least 28's on it but fenders definitely won't fit.
Can anyone suggest fenders that will work with larger tires. Not looking for flimsy tiny fenders but full coverage ones.
Frame and fork use standard side pull brakes not v brakes. Someone mentioned maybe changing front fork but I don't know what would fit and keep the geometry the same? Any ideas??

Interesting, I have a Varsity that has 700c x 32 and they fit fine with stock fenders. But if you go to the Schwinn forum they will more than likely have an answer.

The le tour in '95 came with 26mm tires stock, so it makes sense that a 23mm tire is the biggest you can get with fenders.
I dont really understand your question as you acknowledge its impossible("need at least 28s but fenders definitely wont fit"), but then ask for suggestions for full fenders with larger tires.
Are you hoping a combo if large tire and fender will suddenly fit even though you say it definitely wont fit?
Im not trying to be combative, im sure my post sounds insulting, just trying to understand what your realistic goal is.
If you want wider tires and full fenders, get a bike which was made to handle wider tires and full fenders.

mstateglfr in your haste to respond maybe you missed the "changing the fork" question above. I edited out further comments
I've recently seen the type of fender that is two piece and snaps into each other. The very thin piece goes through the fork crown. Don't know the brand maybe someone can help?

AFAIK Schwinn LeTour is a racing-bicycle. Fat tires & fenders is not what they're about. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Get Non full mudguards then, like SKS Race blades. they stop at the low point, where your brakes are , then continue after that interruption.
RACEBLADE LONG BLACK - SKS-Germany
Think, what you want it to Look like , may be Unrealistic considering what you actually have..

Get a different fork if you think thatll solve it. You can measure your ccurrent fork and get a similar one with more clearance.
Your new fork's trail should be similar to your current fork to keep handling the same.
A new fork wont solve the clearance issue on your rear tire.
As mentioned, perhaps a change in fender style is needed.

Fietsbob that is exactly what I was looking for but couldn't find! Now I know where to order them thanks.
To the other posters thank you for the intended help. I only have my Giant, sold the Trek and Kubaki, gave the Miyata to my son so he could ride with me. Regarding the LeTour I thought the name was for touring not Tour as in tdf! I changed the cranks to a triple, changed the stem to 1 1/8" , added a rear rack, bar end shifters. I asked my LBS to put on new tires and fenders and when it came back it just didn't look right so began my quest. As always appreciate this forum and the help you receive.
