My coach likes to remind me that not every day is a break records day. As long as you hit zone I think you can call it a win.

I like having a TKP to tell me what I want to hear! But I think that's right. I mean, it's the middle week of my first build block. I am TIRED.

3*20'. need to make a point to get out to the local tt loop. the route i did them on today is fine for 10' intervals but too many turns and such for 20s'.

I'm going to geek out with strava for a second.
To keep my legs from atrophy I did an FTP effort on my spin today, on a segment I KOM'd over the fall. Same wattage, same weather conditions, running training wheels instead of race wheels this time, and new bike vs old...1.6mph faster. My old position was obviously janky as ****.

Just uploaded the file from Fiesta Worlds last night, guess I was feeling good!
AP/NP at 268 and 300w for the 53min duration, with a 27.2 mph avg. Did plenty of work at the front, felt great about that.

We're blessed to have 3 great group rides within a half hour drive every Saturday. Missed all of them, as I was the designated dad to take a car load of 6th graders to the regional science fair. I was able to get out and do a solid set of intervals, which is probably better training but not as much fun.

Off the bike more than two weeks now, the longest layoff in several years.
Totally failed <5 minute ride last Weds, terrible pain all day. Improved Thursday, much better Friday and optimistic. Mildly stressful running-around-all-day yesterday (Sat), in the morning while walking to the car which is downhill the pain exploded again in a brand new quad muscle. Wrecked all afternoon, could hardly walk, started drinking bourbon, I know it doesn't help but man is this frustrating. It's just crazy how the pain moves from muscle to muscle.
Read this interesting potential diagnosis and decided to try the recommendations. Ate zero carbs from about 10am on (except for that glass of bourbon) and did multiple bouts of jumping jacks and running in place until the pain became too much, maybe 5 sessions of 1-2 minutes each. Maybe it's unrelated but I feel a lot better this morning, hardly any residual pain. I will continue this regimen, PT tomorrow morning, try spinning on the trainer tomorrow.
I know it's no fun to hear about unexplained chronic injuries but you guys just have to suck it up because my wife doesn't want to hear about it

So bizarre man, what ever it is, I hope you can figure something out soon. I'm pretty sure I would have lost my **** by now.

snow this morning...what month is it?
2.5 hours on the rollers. 5*10' then 4*1' "oh my god it's the end of the race and i'm shredded but i have to hold this wheel" intervals. power went out momentarily midway through the last one which was terrifying. haven't had a chance to look at the data but i'm pretty beat. having a powermeter really helps push through the last few minutes of an interval.

Yesterday, had been going to do openers, but canceled Marblehead meant I had to do some kind of actual workout. Settled on The Workout Formerly Known As ZCI's. Wanted to do 6, but I was broken at 5. Man that's a hard one. Not very good for TSS bragging though. Seems crazy that it's <70 for something that brutal, but it is.
Also helps you realize what pushing through the last minutes of an interval really is. Pre PM I thought I was digging in when really I was backing off and collapsing. With power you're like "this is SO MUCH HARDER than I thought, but I can do it."
