Well, still thinkin of getting a new p2m 165 crankset and also thinkin of taking up drumming. But otoh I should wait and see how this small claims lawsuit turns out. I'm told not to worry about it. But may wanna wait and see.
Civil (structural). Raise was actually 19%. I never check my paystub lol. Was guessing based on deposit info from my wife but didn't figure in taxes.
Why would I do the NCEES thing now and what is that thing? (For me the hardest part of the exam was applying haha).

I'd do it now if you think you'll use it, while you still have all your reference and work info from your last application. If you'll never work in another state it probably isn't worth the time.
If you aren't going to use it yet though, I'd skip the reference section actually, since those have to be only a year old in order to transmit to a state I think.

packing up to go race at patterson and as I'm loading up my race bag I find it just sopping wet.
Like, sitting in a puddle and it's wicked all the water up the sides, into the handles, everything.
I haven't used it since last week. My garage is otherwise entirely dry. I didn't leave any bottles or anything containing water in there. I am totally ****ing stumped.

There's a stretch of road near the Target we sometimes go to that has something like 5 town line signs in about a mile. Might be less than a mile. It it weren't such a terribly busy road it would make for a good video, maybe gear limited to a 39x21 or something (dead flat road) so it's not just a big TT.

Any of you ever had a bird fly through your frame?
Riding into a headwind I flushed a bird out of a low branch on my left. Who in turn roused two others sitting on a railing to the right. The two on the right took off just as a gust hit. No hesitation, flipped back towards me and one went right through the middle of my frame and out underneath my leg at a damned near impossible approach angle. All this transpired in less than a quarter second.

I'll admit that was a concern. The more I think about it the more I wonder if this bird doesn't just hang out there and do this to people for kicks. It was just too perfect doing an almost undetectably fast 180 degree turn into a blind dive bomb through a tiny moving gap.

We just bought a Chevy Bolt fully electric vehicle. We already had 100A service to an outbuilding at the end of the driveway so I figured it would be straightforward to install a level 2 charger there. So I bought a charger on Amazon.
But the subpanel didn't have space for the new circuit. So I spent Thursday installing a new subpanel. But the charger didn't have enough cable length to reach where we park the vehicle. So I spent Friday and Saturday digging a 40' trench and laying conduit. But I wasn't able to run a pull wire through the conduit. So I bought a reel of fish tape this morning, pulled the wire, and installed the charger. Yay it works. I just filled the trench. I am 100% completely physically destroyed.
It's been 25 years since I worked in the trades and probably 15 years since I did any job of this size. I needed reading glasses to do anything with any tool smaller than a shovel, and I've completely lost the habit of keeping the work space organized. I probably burned 3 hours over the course of the job just looking for stuff that I had in my hand just a few minutes earlier.
But it's done!

I don't believe you were ever in the trades. At no point does it ever hint at emotional or physical damage suffered by anyone else in the household being learned on how to do things the right way. You never forget your first blisters from shoveling for hours on end into rocky soil while being fundamentally inspired by encouragement from dad.
Not quite sure how to formulate a response to the transcendental 70's reference or clickbait video. Both were enjoyable in their own right.

Once again, this weekend has proved that I couldn't sew in a straight line if my life depended on it. I'd like to be able to blame the fact that I'm trying to sew heavy duty velcro onto seatbelt webbing, but I'd suck no matter what I was trying to sew together.

Our town has some minimal amount of frontage on Route 44, I think maybe 500 feet? But it's responsible for a substantial chunk of tax revenue since there's basically every box store allowed in town in two very small plots of land. Best Buy, 4 or 5 (sister) car dealerships, McDs, some other stores. No other large stores allowed in town so that corner is heavily developed.
Due to our shopping/Google habits the Hoffman suite of car dealerships doesn't show up, neither does Best Buy, the movie theater, etc. But you can see where Landon's birthday party was, the VW dealership where we got the TDIs, Staples (where I printed out the releases for all the races that I promoted or helped with after moving up here) and my eye doctor

Seeing the cars in the shop I'm convinced that electric cars, running on solar harvested power (hydrogen cells?), are the wave of the future. Not sure of battery technology but the rest of it... an electric motor swap shouldn't be super tricky, a gas engine has just so many parts/systems it's ridiculous. Tires work the same, suspension similar, some controls for charging/discharging, etc, but overall the cars should be much less complicated to manufacture. If Tesla had to design all the stuff related to gas engines I think he'd have had a much harder time getting started. With electric it was probably a bit easier. Not easy, of course, just "easier".
Of course, gas and diesel vehicles have computer controls, too, but with an e-car you aren't going to break out a test light or a jumper wire and figure it out.

Without delving into the nature of energy, electric cars are not actually any better. More of the same would be a most apt non-technical description. Especially if you take into account the type of catastrophic failure they are capable of.

Finally paid off my PayPal credit balance. (I tend to use the )% financing option to pay for bike stuff.)
Now the balance is 0, I can start looking for new parts and stuff. That's how it works, right?

If you mean for carbon emissions or pollution, I'd take issue with that as well. It's true that electric cars fed solely by dirty coal aren't very clean. But that's not the electric makeup in the majority of the country, and it's certainly not going to be the electric makeup in either the near future or the long term.
Power generation is getting cleaner, incrementally, all the time.

Always with the Tesla and never with a grain of common sense about the world it exists in. Yes, the picture you can't see and the context you couldn't base your reply off is a car on fire. The brand most famous for starting on fire.
Meanwhile, the EU is undoing all that silliness they temporarily erected in the 70's and the rest of the world just looks on in awe at how miserable these overwhelmingly rich people in the US must really be.
The Ferrari fire with bastardized Bainbridge quote overlayed was meant to be parts funny and disingenuous. They are cars just the same as every other rolling off the assembly line.

Rapha being bought out by the Walmart conglomerate.
Considering I already buy Rapha knock off gear direct from China, don't care, but it is interesting.
