i agree that the 2nd disc of overcoming is just as good as the 1st one. i think breakaway of course is awesome! i mean who does not like drafting trucks, and arent italians the most flashy and emulated folks in the peleton? I am wondering about american flyer, which i have not seen. how does it compare to breakway. it has some bad reviews from noncyclists but do cyclists like this movie?

I recently bought Tour Baby and Cobbles Baby. I watched TB and loved it. I'm saving CB for the next rainy dreary day.

This one looks like it will be interesting - ridetorio.com, very interesting route i've not seen tried much and certainly not captured on a reasonably professional level! comes out next year apparently.

Really, American Flyers is the real look into 80s cycling in the US, our only chance at the big time, cheesy only because we were there in the day to day, but Costner made it approachable. Can not hope for Titanic when we are really just Yellow Submarine'ish.

Since it's been brought back from the dead...
I thought the movie RAD was rad back in the day, sure it's not about road bikes, but it was one movies that made me like cycling even more in my younger years.

I recall seeing the 1974 documentary "La Course en Tête" on PBS sometime in the 1980's. I especially liked the hour record part.

The bicycle thief Ladri di biciclette

... man in Rome finds a job as a bill poster for which he needs a bicycle. When the bicycle is stolen, he and his son search for the thief and finally end up stealing another bicycle. ...

Shows you how importatnt bicycles were (and still are to some).

Triplets of Belleville is incredible. Not sure if it's really a cycling movie, but it's awesome. Breaking Away is good. American Flyers is stupid.

I need to see Overcoming, I love Jens. Sunday in Hell is on my list too. Hell on Wheels is instant playable, so I'll watch that maybe.

Flying Scotsman isn't bad either. I enjoyed it. Also the only one available on Netflix Instant right now. Triplets used to be.

Did anyone else catch Nicole Kidman in this trailer?

Emily Latella - I would have to say King Kong, The Nutty Professor, and Willy Wonka/Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.

Jane - What do these movies have to with cycling?

Emily - Oh, I thought you said recycled movies. Nevermind.
