I don't have a shirt on at the moment. Working from home trumps everything.

The great thing about working here (Microsoft) is that once you're in the door you can wear just about anything. I see everything from the Docker's types to dudes that look like they just stepped out of The Matrix (trenchcoat mafia)..

Anyway sorry to hear about the dress code, what type of place do you work at?

Maybe you can get me a working USBAudio.sys file that will allow me to use my Peachtree Audio Decco with Windows 7? It all worked well in XP...

Can you sell HED? They make nice wheels, they've got all sorts of graphs and stuff (even a yaw calculator). They're more aero than Zipp a lot of the time, and cheaper. Screw Zipp.

You got me... is there no 'compatibility mode' for that driver in win7?

The manufacturer didn't update drivers I take it?

(Sorry I can't help, I don't work on the Windows team)

Maybe it'll work in Windows 8? They're working on it now, will be out in a few years. =]

Exactly.....wait until you've sat at lunch with a plant manager who explicitly states that a deserving employee will never get a chance to move into any of the positions they want to move into and are actively pursuing because they participate in the posted and policy approved "casual friday" attire and therefore aren't "serious enough" about being professional - so they blackballed them across the corporation.

As you've done it for a while you realize the critical training and education you really learned in school was picked up on the playground during recess. the technical education was just similar to a language course - it allows you to communicate....to the others on the playground.

I can't even get them to respond to my dealer inquiries. At least with Zipp I have a phone number and a name.

Thanks to the customers of this industry being professionals and people who are willing to talk to companies on the phone when they want something....it has made it near impossible to get through the front door anywhere unless you are lucky enough to have a rep just pop in to you location. That presents problems for someone like me.

Same is true for academia. Not much difference, though. If you want good teaching reviews you have to be entertaining and "give" good grades. I refuse to do the latter.

I don't see that being an issue in what I want to do. I'm not in business. I can always spin that off as wanting to make patients more comfortable when all I really want to do is wear jeans.

If khaki's are allowed, does that mean I can wear khaki colored pants that have the pockets near the knee/thigh?

Seriously, I'm clueless.

Dude just head to the gap and buy a few sets of their 'uniforms' you'll be fine and won't spend a boat load of cash. Then once you've made some coin you graduate to Banana Republic...once you get some real money then you can buy some nice designer stuff.

Go here:
https://www.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=5150
https://www.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=11901

You can buy three colors of pants, and five shirts and you can mix and match.

Little more coin but nicer:
https://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/Mens...fordshirts.jsp
https://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/Mens...gory/pants.jsp

Their stuff fits skinny guys better.

Thanks Gary! That's in my price range.

Still worried about the triple rent pay in sept, so I'll try holding off on buying any new clothes till then. I have 2 pairs of dress pants and a corduroy so I should be able to hold out till then. Need to figure out student loan stuff this weekend too. Need to start paying that stuff...

I have to wear britches to work at my current job. Jeans are fine, but I'm more comfortable in chinos.

EDR: Banana Republic's britches are pretty good for me. I almost went for some more spendy brands, but I've been really happy with them, and I think they're w/in $2 of Gap's price (probably the same cut). I had to get the "loose fit" because the skinny ones were tighter on my legs than my bibs.

Yeah the BR stuff fits me pretty well too, but with my chicken legs I don't have the same worries you wookies do. J Crew pants and shirts fit me well too but again I'm skinny guy so their cut works well on me.

Here is a cost saving hint: If you are wearing a mens small you can wear a boy extra large...the boys stuff costs close to half that of the mens stuff. I have a boat load of J Crew, Abricrombe and Fitch and Polo, polo's that are boys sizes and they were cheap.

I remember when A&F and BR were wannabe Safari stores. I have a brief case from BR that has a spot for bullets.
