A thicker mat that won't shift around like a blanket is a good idea.

I learned how to iron stuff today. It looks better than it did when it came out of the dryer. That's a start, isn't it?

I can knock out a week's worth of shirts and pants pretty quickly. Usually during Mad Men.

Yes. There are some pretty good youtube vids on how to iron. I found that the biggest improvements occurred if I just took my time and didn't rush when I was ironing.

Apple recently patented the idea of a bike mounted computer (i.e. iPhone type or similar).

Most cases/screen protectors/etc. are just a waste of money IMO. You bought the phone to use it, don't cripple its looks and functionality by holding on to the notion that it will still be perfect next year. Phones get beat up, it is a fact of life. I'd rather use it then have it living in a clear condom its whole life.

Sometimes you just want to throw your hands up and say, "That's it. I give up."
Today is one of those days.

When I was a kid our family had to fly across the Atlantic regularly, 1-2x a year, sometimes more. I would be severely disappointed if I didn't get jammed really hard into the seatbelt due to some air pocket or whatever. The rougher the ride the better. I wanted to see the wings bounce up and down as the plane struggled in the air. I felt totally invincible, had no concept of the possibility of failure.
I wasn't disappointed one flight (I was 21 or 22 by then, still somewhat invulnerable feeling) when I was on a plane that went non-stop from NYC to Tokyo. Apparently the plane was on fumes (flight distance > stated range of plane in airline's "plane information brochure page") so even though Tokyo was under a severe storm, the plane flew right in. I swear my hip bones were bruised from the 20-30 minutes of flight that felt like an off road racing truck. I'd feel weightless repeatedly as I got tossed up from the seat, the seatbelt the only thing keeping me grounded. Reminded me of when I accidentally got air in the family sedan when I was late for a violin lesson.. but that's a different story. Anyway, no one was standing, lots of worried people, and I was grinning and loving it all.
Now though I'm a bit more, shall we say, fatalistic. Conservative.
Earlier this year I was in a plane that landed in some heavy wind. Yes, I still wanted to feel the plane drop out from under me, but not when I could see the emblems on the cars below us. When we were over the runway the plane tilted left pretty hard - I thought we were gonna dig a wing into the ground, must have been 15-20 degrees or more, the sky wasn't dominating the scene out the window anymore, more like grass and pavement with skid marks. After the plane righted itself the pilot dropped us hard onto the runway, like he "landed" 30 feet up and then let the plane just flop down the rest of the way.
I decided to clap

Thanks, Ken.
I'm just upset with everything going on. I'm in pain. My sores keep bleeding (my fault, I know) and my elbow aches now. Both my bikes have some issues that need dealt with before I can ride them. One happened this morning.
Our financial situation has worsened - if that's possible. And something struck me in the core of my being this morning.
So that's my rant and I'm done with it. Sorry about bellyaching but I need to sometimes. I'm better now.

I hate amusement park rides, generally speaking. I don't like feeling scared. As a kid I loved flying through storms, driving through torrential rain or ice-slicked roads. Gs without fear. Now the only Gs I like to pull are when I turn hard in the car or on the bike.
That's why, ahem, I stick to crits. Seriously. Dislike of fear.

I should point out that the Vomit Comet is an airplane that flies in a parabolic course to simulate zero-g.
